Default wondering on sending my pl 8 in for repair

Hello,

My pl 8 seems to have an isseu
(for all I now , it always had the isseu
hooray for the history of helifreak
https://www.helifreak.com/showthread.php?t=451823 )
it does not seem to do internal discharge

well at that time i was still getting to know my charger so I thought it was user error so i never persued the isseu and was very happy with the charger otherwise

I also never used the internal discharge anymore until last week in the beginning of the season

anyway I contacted fma , but it seems my charger is now out of warranty we must be talking weeks or a month grrrrrr. bougt it in may 2012

but I am wondering if I would send it back and pay for the repair (but it annoys me , that it never worked ) or if this isseu could further damage my pl 8 or just go up in smoke

or should i just keep using it

well,

(went via my reseller, explained a bit what happened and he also explained it to revo)
I've got feedback

Out of warrenty, There will be a repair cost of USD100 (exclusding shipping ) Please confirm.

Well needless to say I'm not so happy, I asked if it was save to keep using it and I never got feedback
so 100 dollar + shipping to singapore (

For the moment I am still using it ....
After all I payed 335,97 to get it to my door step, ( PL8 V2 with MPA board , carry bag , batter clippers , computer link, shipping, etc.... ) so it was a very very expensive charger
anyway lesson learned I guess ( on multiple subjects ....)

Hello,

first of all I'm pasting a WALL of text here. I want to make clear that Revolectrix has nothing to blame here nor the shop I bought it ( although in the eu ther eis a 2 year warranty so I should have claimed it , which I didn't )
Still they tried to help me as much as possible to get my evidence.

I'm not a native english speaker nor writer AND it was written with 2 months of frustration piled up, so bare with it
I've removed some shop details and other personal details since for venting reasons that's not important.

ps: 20 mins after sending this email I got an email form the shop asking if they could help.
That's before I could post it here even.

Why do I post this ?
Selfhealing, venting, rage venting even, just informing people that Revolectrix really wanted to help a customer.

I know I could just pay taxes again and get it over with,
But it just it was just starting with some emails , I did everything honest and by the book , I was really convenced this would be a 1 mail thing.
Now it has become personal, It seems someone of my collegues knows someone coming over from the US , so I'm tempted to say just send it back and Ask Revo to send it to that guy. EVERYTHING to avoid paying these taxes to BELGUIM !!!!

Also my imagation goes wild and after the phone call , I could really pull the guy through the phone it was a very unpleasant phonecall, just the tone. saying that emails are no evidence, I couldn't proof a thing.
I even asked if I should put 5 € the next parcel I send out. (but THAT he didn't find funny since that would be fraude)

Its just some ignorant custom clerk , does not want to accept reason/evidence and explain why ? Also its easy I can't do sh*t about it. so I'm imaging that he is enjoying this just for fun.

In short: I need to pay import tax on an item I tempory export for repair , so there are no taxes to claim. they do not seem to accept the repair.

Should you want to read it grap a bag of popcorn and I'm sure others also have similar frustrations with gouvernment officers so here you can get a share of my frustration.

Below you will find the email: I send it to everyone ( email adres that was involved over this in the past 2 months )

Hello,

This email is in english since some people in the to line only understand english. If you need a Dutch translation I can send it again in Dutch.

Today I failed to get again information WHY my parcel is rejected as a repair, the only thing I know is that the provided documents and information is not sufficient.

Short : I bought a charger in ireland (within the EU ) , this charger I was unable to buy in Belgium so I bought it from an official vendor in Ireland directly , I didn't buy it outside the EU - So I certainly didn't buy it from revolextric directly) just because I didn't want to have issues with taxes/warranty etc... ,
But it was malfunctioning I reported this already shortly after I recieved my charger on a support forum on the internet. I never did anything with it since I thought it was just me not using the charger correctly. I again asked on the support forum what could be wrong , I was told that if is most probably bad soldering and I should get it repaired.
However when I contacted the vendor I passed the 1 year warranty ( a few weeks ) they gave me. The bad soldering made me worry about the safety on this charger. While the shop could not help me the manufacture kindly proposed to repair it if I would send it to them.
which I then did.

Therfore this mail , can someone PLZ explain me what is missing because in the end this can only be based on missing information or incomplete information.

I'm with my back against the wall and I don't know what is missing to clarify this issue, the only thing I know is that I'm being transparant , honest and correct from the beginning.
I can't sleep over it , and I surely can't enjoy my hobby (remote controlled helis) anymore , didn't fly anymore since I send it to America.

Below I made a listing of all questions I had and all evidences I send to Belgium Customs (BC) to get this sorted.
The only response I get , => its not enough. without why , or plz clarify this.

I've put all parties in the email
The vendor *shop removed*
Manufacture http://www.revolectrix.com/ (contact * removed* FMA direct is also I company or subcompany I don't know )
Bpost customer support
Belgium customs

I assume I only have until 16/11/13 to get this sorted (information of today)

For recap of Today 6/11/2103: after a while my package was returned to belgian customs for review. ( which I hoped was now a trivial thing since I tried to collect as must evidence as possible)

From BC to Me
I was informed that a review has been executed by and customs does not accept the replacement under warranty claim and the actual tax remains
only 2 options remain:
- pay 95,55 euro tax
- it will be send back to the sender on 16/11/013

Me to BC:
Its not a replacement under warrenty but a repair of a charger that I send to the US.
I asked what is missing to verify to proof its a repair ?
Which information or document are missing to proof this ?
So I can send them again.

BC to me:
the documents are not enough to not pay import tax.

Me to BC:
I ask again what is missing , what more evidence is needed ?
Which documents need clarification ?

I can try to take contact with the vendor and manufacture if needed.

I did not recieve any feedback WHAT is exactly wrong with the provided documents.

Below the questions:
I answered to belgium customs in the course of various mails and different persons, the parcel was recieved 27/9/2013 to BC so the next info is spread of 2 month of trying to get this resolved.
It would be really helpfull , What is missing to accept the fact that I didn't import the charger , but I exported it temporary to have it repaired.

BC to me
Question 1 ) just a letter with the notice of there is package waiting for me at the border

Proof A provided at that time

Question 2 ) provide export documents to the US

Proof B provided at that time ( on this document export document I listed the value of the charger on 250 € ) , on this value BC is now claiming again FULL import taxes.

Question 3 )
3A : provide BELGIAN invoice (which I don't have)
3B: provide the confirmation that the vendor repaired it under warranty

Proof C provided at that time

Question 4 )
4A: on the Proof A 3 ( bill of shop ) its not indicated that I payed taxes.
4B: BC says there is not link between vendor shop and my parcel.

because I already provided evidence.
At that Time I was completely lost , and I contacted BC by phone.
At the end of the phone call I was even more confused since I really seemd to me no matter what I give of evidence it does seem to make any difference , because I again didn't understood what is missing.
Nevertheless I understood
4 A; that there was an issue between the tax was not clearly indicated on the Payment bill of shop.
4 B: link between my parcels , payments , and me sending it to amerika instead of send it to the vendor for repair.

I again contact Revo and shop to get more evidence.

At this time there is radio silence from BC , I get contacted from belgian post customers services.

In the mean time I ask shop to clarify the bill ,and to indicate that I didn't import the charger but THEY did it , and the price included VAT

Afterwards again radio silence,

I ask updated , after some insisting I get informed that the parcal is returning and its being reviewed again , so this makes u end up on today.

Proof provided by me to Belgian customs : I never got any feedback about the fact IF they recieved or not the documents (foto's , pdf's, excell files , ... )
so it could very well be that some information never reached the correct persons.

These can all be provided on request.

Proof A 1) 1st email explaining its a charger and it was send for repair to the US, I explained I bought it in ireland , and explained the mini of this history

Proof A 2 )
I provided the tracking number of the Export to US

Proof A 3 )
I provided the payment bill of shop

Proof A 4 )
I added a mail change of revo contact (sender of the package ) which requested me to confirm me shipping it to them and to have it repaired under warranty.

Proof B ) I provided photo the export document slip ( It is a photo of the form CN 23 )
I was given this by Beglium post

Proof C 1) I indicated I didn't have a Belgian invoice , it was bought in ireland and I point back to Proof A 3 ( send earlier)

Proof C 2 ) I assumed Proof A 4 was not enought I request revo contact again to reconfirm the repair. I recieved a mail from revo contact again , but in the mean time I got another request from BC.

Proof D ) I contacted shop , to help clarify the 'link' issue.
I also contacted revo contact again (revolextrix to confirm the link )

D 1 ) email to and from shop to confirm the fact that I bought it there,
D 2 ) I also included the mail chain of my previous warranty requests to shop
D 3 ) mail of revo contact
D 4 ) I send my paypal payment to shop from my initial buying the charger with them

Proof E )
E 1 : I send the email from shop

E 2 : clarification bill send to customer support bpost.

I read it all and I am sorry for your troubles with Belgium Customs. I wish I had some advice, but this is not my area if expertise. The only thing I can think of is travel to the customs office and speak with a supervisor. Depending on its location that may not be feasible. Anyway, best of luck and let us know how this turns out.
