Those are what I used when I had my X5 flying. I did tend to be hard on them though.

Thanks!

I got 2 new Gens Ace 35C 4400 mah packs and highly recommend them! They fit the formula canopy with battery fence perfect with no alterations. COG is spot on now. Voltages and IRs look great before and after flights.

I mounted the battery so the wires are in the top front.

No bogging and it's like a new heli. I guess my 2 year old packs were finally getting tired.

If anyone gets their hands on a Turnigy Graphene 4000 45c or 65c I'd be real curious to hear if it fits under the older pod / boom canopy..

It's time for me to get a couple new batts for my x5. I'm liking the Hyperion 4200mah 35c. The weight is perfect for me, as I'm a tiny bit tail heavy with a 634g gens ace 4000mah 25c.

Anybody have anything good to say about Hyperion? They can be had pretty cheap.

I've owned one and it puffed after only 1 season. It was a little 25c 2s 1800mah rx pack. Not exactly a confidence booster.

I fly sport/mild 3d. Just want something that won't bog...

Default GAUI X5 Battery Database

Gens Ace 4400 35C fit with battery fence. I positioned the battery vertically to get more free space in the front.

Thunder power 4400 55c doesnt fit at all... If u want to use it, you must modify battery plate - raise the front part to 1cm, and you will be able to easily put the battery length of 155-160mm ( i checked it out with my hood!!! )

Could you please post pics of raising the battery plate to fit longer packs?

I have not yet had the time to make this modification. When the battery does not fit, I started to think how to solve this problem.
I put underneath the banana plug (thickness of about 1 cm), then I attached the battery.
After that I came to the conclusion: raise the front to 1 cm - will be able to set a longer battery!
I hope this information will be useful to you.

Do you have link to these or post dimensions?

The original GensAce 25C 4000's fit my FES X5 with room to spare. They were true 25C and in some cases actually 30C. If so then they are fine. Any lipo over 35C on the lable is kind of BSing you anyway.

The gensace your looking at are:
138x43x50 / 620grams

I have glacier 4000mah/30c
137x42x49 / 613grams

The glaciers fit with plenty of room with a Formula canopy and battery fence. You could also compare your gensace against other batteries in this thread.
