G'day Justin,
I'm a member at WARMs and we fly helis on Sundays. Excellent cooked breakfast for $6. I'm a bit hit and miss as I am a power station controller on the strip and work 4 days on, 6 days off so sometimes my roster gets in the way. Having said that, I've been off all this week Happy to catch up. Drop me a pm

Yeah! There was another one with his feet on panel, asleep and drooling but that could give too much away about how hard I work. 95% standby and 5% chaos (+/-5%) usually so when it there's more than one of us looking like Homer.

I'm running the Mikado YGE ESC on my 800 Xxtreme and would like to try the Pyro 800-40.
Did you guys who runs this combo have to send your ESC to YGE to have it flashed with the non Mikado firmware, Or did you just fly it out of the box without any changes to the YGE. I run the 18 tooth pinion and around 1850 headspeed. I would really appreciate your experience with this. |

I went to the Helimasters last weekend and both Scorpion and Kontronik had a stand. The Kontronik guys were set up like a workshop showing a lot more effort in everything Kontronik. They have custom windings for for all sorts of applications. They also had the speed record heli kitted out with all Kontronik gear. The Scorpion stand looked like an empty shop. They were not promoting in any way whatsoever. Mikado is German as with YGE and Savox, and they already sell the 600SE with Kontronik motor and ESC, so I would not be surprised to see a Kontronik combo on the Extreme.
PS Helimasters was awesome Kyle Dahl is in a different league. And I came back with an 800 Extreme they were selling them with 10% off. |

Hello guys, I am thinking to get a xxtreme for my AP work. I am wondering if I can use the pyro 800 40 running 16T with a JIVE 80HV on 12s config.? Because I need the headspeed at 1600rpm and I think 12s for AP is enough, so any suggestions?

Bruce a 80 amp ESC is probably too small for those big blades under load I would suggest at least a 120 v13 Kontronik ESC for the 14 pole Pyro 800 . The setup sounds Great! The P800 will offer smooth power and long flight times and cool running compared to other motors out there the 14 poles assures plenty of torque while using a mild wind.

Just fitted an 850-40l in mine to replace the stock scorpion. No real reason as the scorpion did the job admirably although ran very hot.
Im a kontronik whore, so when the opportunity arose I had to give it a go, and it should pair up nicely with the kosmik 200 that's fitted. Weather over here is horrendous at the moment, but as soon as it clears will give the combo a go and report back |

Nice work "helinutz".
I just got my Kosmik Cool 200 and 850-40L days before Xmas. These are going in my 800 and the 800-40L and Kosmik 200 currently in my 800 are going into the new 700Xx. I'm also a K-fan and the 800-40L was performing well in the 800. I too just liked the idea of a 850 though. I should have mine in the air in a few weeks. Looking forward to your flight report.

Just now setting up my 800 xxteme with 800-40l competition, and the kosmik 200, I am new to kontronik so any tips or hints as far as the xxtreme goes? Im running beastx instead of vbar because I'm familiar..... also the futaba bls hv servos......
I was planning on running the inline fuse and the bec without a buffer....... should I use one of those scorpion backup deals for the bec? |

Well, good weather today, so a few flights through the xxtreme.
First flight, nice but needed a bit more oomph so landed and swapped out the 17 tooth pinion for an 18 tooth. Next flight was a revelation. 1750 on the head and no bogging. 5.20 before the Kosmik slow down kicked in (set at 4000mah used) not a smack flyer, but gave it my best shot Oodles of power and motor and esc came down only mildly warm (well, closer to tepid really) Not a necessary upgrade, but for me a really worthwhile one. |

Helinutz,
I assume you're talking about your 700Xx, which is 12S with the Pyro 800-48 and the 18T. Nice and tepid. Welcome to the wonderful world of Kontronik ESC/motor combos.

I'm going to try and back pedal out of that one. I was more making a statement about the Kontronik combination of ESC/motor rather than insulting you by welcoming you to K, as such.
How is your 800 going with the Pyro 850? I'm still in the process of swapping bits over and will get to maiden in the next week or so.
