Hello

My new zyx s2 arrived today. plugged it in to bind the sat and I get a yellow flashing light. went to push the set button but its an empty hole!

Do I have a faulty one or does the s2 not have a set button! the word set is still on the top and its definitely an s2 by label and box.

Is there a different way to bind the sat with the V2?

Any help advice appreciated

Early S2 are actually S-models with a different label, see if you can connect to old software, if you can then you have the hoax S2, but absence of a set buttpn might indicate you have the real one.

Use the latest software to setup.

Agree with Vinger - you may well have one of the new S2's - any chance you could take some pictures of the internals - boards etc.?

tried new and old software no go at all!

just the yellow flashing light and no set button to clear it like the zyx S!!!

It came from a tarot distributor so don't want to mess my warranty up just yet by taking it apart. I can't get past the blinking yellow light stage and there is no set button as on the S !

Waiting to hear from tarot now!

That makes a lot of sense - do you mind saying who you got it from (by PM if you prefer), I am interested in getting a "real" S2, as their appear to be original ZYX-S's mistakenly in S2 packaging in circulation

They still show waiting for stock on the web, but I emailed them and got in touch with a CEO of the company who sent me one with a fair shipping fee.

So it's definitely an S2

just got off the skype with David who runs tarot-rc-heli and he's a really nice guy. Helped me sort it. Basically yes there is no set button not needed now! The satalite rx needs to be bound first to hand set via a conventional rx and then the satalite can then be added back to the ZYX S2 fully working

Alls well that ends well. I was trying so hard to bind the sat like it could be done on the ZYX S without the conventional rx but had no luck. Maybe it can be done that way but it's much easier to bind it first then add it to the ZYX S2

good news

I was involved in the fake s2 fiasco. I've got my money refunded and got a free zyx-s out of it, but I still want that s2, please keep us posted on flight characteristics.

Also, could you confirm the servo selection options for both tail and cyclic?

On my software I saw a 250 and 333hz option for 1520us on cyclic which seems high for cyclic servos.

Also I don't see a tab in setup for piro optimization check.

Hello, I got two ZYX-S2, one from oomodel and one from ebay (seller initially sell ZYX-S, but then sent me S2). Both units are definitely S2 (according to paper box, unit upper cover, and information about unit firmware and type by ZYX Assistant application).
No setup button, however unit upper cover has "setup" sign and also small hole, where setup button suppose to be (and exist on ZYX-S).
I success with setup ZYX-S2 using pre-binded Spektrum DSM-2 satellite, seems everything fine, hope to make test flight on this weekend. See small video [ame]http://youtu.be/4pBAXUVG7vo[/ame]
But same as with ZYX-S, the Receiver Type: DSMX-2 was used

Also I tried to setup with pre-binded Spektrum DSMX satellite, see second video [ame]http://youtu.be/ErbxX3rgHZM[/ame]
and I'm completely failed! Only if I power on, the DSMX sat blink once, then no blink at all, like brick, the ZYX-S yellow flashing - no RC signal.
So, I have no idea how to use DSMX sat and about proper binding procedure (the jumper cable still exist in the ZYX-S2 package box, but seems not used now like with ZYX-S.
That's all my experience with S2 for now, any comments very appreciated

You have to pre bind the sat first with the S2 version then it works just fine. I don't think that you can bind a sat directly using S2 version as could be done with S on version 3.5 of the firmware.

Just spend some hours playing with...
Even with pre-binded DSMX satellite, this "yellow box" works same as ZYX-S. Badly! Wrong channel mapping and wrong limits. No difference, compare with ZYX-S yet

So, for my it's just "strange" replacements for died ZYX-S. Only work with DSM-2 sat. Will see how it flight soon. But... I'm a little bit disappointed now.

Yeah no set button freaked me at first! But all works fine for me on DSM2 not tried DMSX though....

Hi everbody, (sry for my english, iam no native speaker / writer)

i am stuck at the yellow "flash light".....

i am trying to connect a hitec optima 7 rx to the ZYX S2 and iam not able to get over
the flashing yellow light.

i connected with the pc software via usb, wrote the flash . still yellow light's on....
i dont have a "set" button, so maybe there is another trick to get this thing working.

can anyone plz shade some light on this / me ?! iam not able to setup my zyx.
