In the event of not having a flat topped rotor hub, could you instead:
Secure a circular bubble level to the top of your rotor hub and then adjust your leveling table until the bubble is centered, mark the spot on the table that's in line with your main shaft, and then level the Soko on that spot?

Hi Otto,
What exactly do you want to achieve with that? A level table/heli or calibrating the Soko Gauge? For first: Its way more accurate to use the methods in our manual For latter: You can put the bubble level directly on the leveling table (without the heli) level out the table and calibrate the Soko Gauge from their Or maybe I missunderstand you completely Soko

I just make sure that relative to the main shaft I'm perpendicular or level when I calibrate my digital level and adjust my blades. I have circular bubble levels, but I only use them on my Foosball table. They are not remotely accurate enough for setting tracking or blade pitch. At that point you may as well pull out the old analog plastic pitch gauges.

Otto, if you go back and look you will see my table has a built in round bubble level. It isn't nearly accurate enough to really setup the heli properly at all. It is mostly just to get the table close enough to start doing your actual leveling, or doing field work in the bed of somebody's truck at the flight field really. And it gives us a close guess. I use the Soko gauge itself on my table to make sure it is dead level in every direction after seeing the bubble level is close. Reversing the Soko gauge to verify it is dead on also. As the bubble level can still be off a few degrees or so and not even show it.
This system is what revealed my RcLogger was so drifty and inconsistent all the time also. Side by side on the perfectly level table early on using a professional grade high end level, the Soko stayed dead on. But the RcLogger kept showing different values even after calibrating it over and over again. Even using brand new batts in it. I had it drift quite a few times just having it do the Skookum cyclic jerk during setup commands. Remember, these use the cheapest form of a digital level that you can imagine. They were an afterthought in cheap cell phone apps. They are the same thing! Just a cheap little chip that actually shouldn't work as well as they do. I am not trying to badmouth the RcLogger here but the overall nature of all digital pitch gauges in common. Mark, As a side note. I have calibrated over half a dozen Sk 720 Blues after a season or a crash to remedy noticeable gyro drift. The previous system I had was really tough to pull it off, it was pretty complicated. This new leveling table combined with the Soko tool flat out gets them dead on. You can call me a fanboy if you wish. I don't consider that an insult at all when I find something of this kind of value that really does work. When I truly believe in something, I let people know. If something sucks, well I have been banned here at HF for letting everyone know that also. It is what it is.

OK, I ordered a full kit and will see for myself.
Randy, I have found that I need to zero my RC Logger repeatedly while setting up a heli for the same reason you mentioned. If the Soko digital level is a higher quality device and holds it's zero point then that alone will have made it worth having. Thanks.

Soko, do you have the actual pic of the gravity mechanical level assembly inside your tool to show here?

I just received my Soko Kit about a week ago. It looks very nicely made and the gauge is definitely nicer then my RCLogger 2 and takes much cheaper and easier to find AAA's to boot. I will be setting up my helis with it over the next while and anticipate they will be smoother then ever. Great system. Thanks Soko and keep up the good work

Where did you end up ordering from? Directly from Soko? Do we get a coupon code for participating in this thread? LOL I too have the RCLogger Digital Pitch Gauge 2, and am contemplating selling it and picking the Soko tool up. I've been following this thread for a while, and it seems to be a very promising tool. -Shane |

It is out for delivery today so I should see it in the next few hours.
Yes I got it through Soko's US distributor. And I agree the price is very reasonable to begin with.
