I'm still flying my original tail bearings, probably 50+ flights, including one gear-stripping tail strike, and another "blade-trimming" tail scrape that required blade replacement. Never had the tail apart. No problems still.

There must have been a bad batch of these.

Firstly, Hi to all- it's my first post after reading lots on here.

I've had the same tail problems and after replacing multiple bearings and most things in the tail setup- I was concerned it was a balance problem.. I think found the real culprit, the hub the grips screw into. It's just not staight, like a bent feathering shaft. I thought this would happen in a crash (there have been plenty..) so bought a few spares and at least 50% of them were out of true. The arms are so short that any slight bend in them would create a real bearing muncher. Hopefully just a bad batch from align.
The bearings are so tiny, over tightening the grip screw could easily damage them.
I'm also using the blade 400 pitch rod and fittings- it's a thicker carbon rod than the trex and the fittings have just shoulders so the rod slides through really easily- the servo is boom mounted.

Not even that one is immune to problems!
2 flights on mine and one of the bearings sitting towards the hub seized. The rest?....look like they have been used and abused! :@

Need NEW bearings!

I thought this might be part of the problem, but I could never be sure if it was bent or not - it's hard to see. It wouldn't take much of a bend to put all the load onto one spot on the bearing. And those outer grip bearings are so tiny...
