Default Twitch

So I get this twitch when I'm hovering (that's all I'm doing right now on this new build while I test the gyro). Anyway, I know this can happen when you use only Spektrum sats. It kind of freaking me out since I'm not sure what the twitch should look like. Anybody got any vids?

tail twitch? what model heli?

I was having tail twitch on my Align 550 and 700's. Turned out to be some binding in the tail linkage due to sloppy Loctite. Make sure your tail linkage is 100% butter smooth. I found it pretty hard to use Loctite but not gum up the works.

then all the usual sat questions:
bound at 11ms?
Rock solid, high current BEC or RX battery >6V
Its an expensive 750. Why not spring for a full RX?

Bound at 11ms with a 2s lipo. Running the exact same set up on my Goblin 770 with no issues. I want to keep the wiring simple so no seperate RX unless absolutely necessary.

Same motor: Qutuam 4530-500. Different servos. The Goblin has MKS X8s. The Rush has Futaba HBl255HV on the cyclic and MKS BLS669 on the tail.

Some people running with satellites have experience voltage drop because the servos were drawing too much power. Satellites are sensitive to voltage drop.

This is just a guess, but may be the different servos are creating problems with the satellites and causing the twitch.

Then again some have solved the problem with better wiring for the satellite. I think progressiveRC has some.

Anyway I would go with a full Rx just as a test if only as a temporary install.

This forum and others are littered with sat problems, I know you want to keep it clean but,,,,,,,,

The Bavarian field rep recommend new sat wires. I have some new stock ones for an upcoming new build. I temporarily installed them for a test flight today. If that doesn't work I'll upgrade the sat wires. Last resort is adding the RX.

I've tried brand new Spektrum sat wires, it is still a hit or miss. Try these.

Thanks. I still don't see how the cables would make a difference

Thats a similar reason as to why I switched to Futaba. My DX9 was perfect never ever had a problem. One day on the bench one of the satellites its light was off. But I could have swore it was on when I had booted up. When I gently touched the satellite wire the light flickered. This was a machine with maybe just a few flights on it. No crashes, no butcher building, my work is cleannn. At the time I was not running 3sX but I used to get a tail twitch.

That was that, I moved on to futaba cause I can't live with something like that. How do you know if a wire is good or bad or can go bad up in the air forget it. Never had a twitch after that, then I moved to 3sx this year and now I have 3 of these great little units !

For the record I'm not brand loyal, not saying futaba is good or better, but its been fine so far.

Not surprised. Bad sat cables are the #1 cause of issues related to the use of Spektrum sats. It's such an easy fix that most don't believe me when I tell them to change the cables.

I was going to use the ones I took on my Logo 800 build. The lights were always on.
