Thanks Bob, works just fine now

The link works now, but it plays the "cyclic servo installment" video.

OK, just posted steps 22 & 23 mounting the tail.

Next up setting up the tail servo and gyro!

We are getting close to finishing folks

Do you all think I need to do a canopy triming vid?

OK last major step is posted. Step 29 setting up the tail and gyro!

I may do a canopy trimming vid but other than that this series is done unless some tells me I missed something.

I hope you all enjoy it!

Jeremy.... Test flights were yuesterday and I will be posting some vids. I also help Jack726 get his dialed on 3S... Man I have to say the 3S setup is also a good setup... Not quite the power of 4S but a VERY worthy flyer. I also have vids of me flying his 3S setup after we got it dialed in.

P.S. I PM'ed you. Did you get it?

OK just posted my first Lepton test flight vids... Flown by me so nothing too fancy.

I aint no 3D master and realize these are the FIRST real flights on both my bird on 4S and Jack726's bird on 3S but I think they will give you an idea how they fly. Whats impressive was how well they flew first flight. My 4S set up was not dialed in fully yet as you will see and with the experience I helped get Jack's bird a little better dialed in on 3S.

I have to say I was pretty impressed with 3S.

Anyway the vids are on my first post in this thread under the build videos.

Let me know what ya all think? Feel free to ask questions!

FYI, I wont respond to questions until later this afternoon as I am going out ot a brunch.

I downloaded both videos, they seem to have correct filenames (i.e. 3s and 4s) but both seem to be the flight of Jack's 3S bird - which was impressive BTW :glasses:

You've got the demo video's mixed up.

The material is both for 3s setup (although the intro tries to tell you differently).
Getting late bob?

Greetz,

Marc

Nice job with the vidoes Finless!!
Looks like a fun heli. So does the Trex600.
I am interested in getting a bigger heli, and you have built and flown both.
As far as quality and performance goes what heli do you like better Lepton, or the Trex600?

G'day Bob,
Just wanted to drop in and say great build videos. I have a few questions about the two test flights:

1. Do you know what ambient temp was when you did the tests?
2. what settings did you use on the controllers? (specfically timing advance and switching rate)
3. how much did you take out of the packs for each flight?

I'm in the process of building mine and am going to run the hacker a30-10xl on a jazz 55-6-18 esc if they ever come back in stock.

Keep up the great work

I am still working on my Trex 600 and I only flew one once last weekend. The Trex 600 flew great. They are different heli's for sure. Both fly well. The Trex 600 is great out of the box. The Lepton is going to need a tiny bit more tweaking (larger tail rotor blades and vertical tail fin) but it is going to be a great heli too.

The Lepton can still be flown in a park. The Trex 600 is a 50 size heli so you might get chased out of parks and really need a flying field.

Hirobo has GREAT quality in thier parts and the Lepton kit but this time Align does too based on what I am seeing right now in my kit.

It's an apples and oranges comparison however as they are different size helis.

Hard to say right now if I had to give one up for another. Hmmm.... at this point if I was asked to do that I would keep the Trex600.
1) Parts are cheaper
2) It doesnt need any more work or mods as it is 100% out of the box. Align really did a good job on this heli.

Looks varry nice. Are the align carbons for the 600 what you used on it? And if so do they work as good as the ones for the se?

No these were the Trex SE carbon blades not the 600.
They are a tad longer than the lepton blades but because they were stiffer the performance was better than the plastic lepton blades.
I also had to use 2 washers on each side of the Trex carbon blades.

Wow the lepton blades are that small. Well I like the se blades, run them on my x400. I get great tail controll and crazzy fast piros with'em.
