Default USE HONEYBEE KING V2 BLADES ON A BELT CP?

Hi guys i bought a belt CP from a friend but has one damaged main rotor blade (snapped) i used to have a HONEYBEE KING V2 that i still have a brand new set of blades for. I was wondering if the HB blades will fit and be ok on the BELT CP as the BELT CP blades are about 3 to 4" longer.

Hi Rick, no, they won't cut it. You can use cheap Align 325mm wood blades on it, but you'll need 1mm spacer washers as the original Esky blades are a bit thicker at the root.

Default BeltKing

Hey Ricky,

The blade grips are the same size, so the blades will fit. King blades are 275 mm and Belt blades are 315 mm. So you will lose quite a bit of lift. But if you are hovering and just moving around it might work OK. You will be using more pitch is all. Besides, if you are rusty, you might break a few sets anyway...

I would give it a try.

Long live the King err Belt err BeltKing

The percentage of lift generated at the end of the blade is significantly higher than anywhere else; the blade tip travels the fastest!

Therefore, the amount of lift you lose with the blades being that short is significantly greater than the percentage of length that you lose. If it gets off the ground, it will be at max throttle....and you would need to adjust your pitch curve accordingly. Things would be straining at or beyond their design limits.

For me, it would be borderline dangerous. If it was meant to fly with 275mm blades, it would be supplied with them.
