How to set up your DX6i to use all 3 banks (setups) on the Brain

Just an addition to this. I wanted to have the situation where if I had engaged self-level it would be independent of the position of the other switch.

Tx Setup Gyro:
0: 0% (Setup1 on the Brain)
1: 100% (Setup 3 on the Brain)

Mix1 Setup:
mix Gyro>Gyro
Set the mixing ratios to:
D: -100% U:-100%
Set the switch to one of your free switches (I used Elev D/R).

This way when the mix is on (self level) the iKon is always in setup 2.
When the mix of off, the gyro switch will flip between setup 1 & 3

You can also add another mix to ensure you have at least some positive pitch.

Mix 2 Setup

Mix pitch>pitch

Set the mixing ratios to

D: -100% U: 0%

Set to the same switch you allocated for self level.

With -100% the pitch will go to zero.
With -125% the pitch will go a little bit positive! depending on how much negative pitch you had.

I figured I'd give this a shot on my Dx7se... but apparently I'm not quite sharp enough to figure this out on my own.

I have 2 issues:
1) GYRO isn't an option in my mixing setup.
2) Anyone know what switch # corresponds to the AIL D/R switch in the ikon software?

Ultimate goal is to get 2 flyable banks linked to the GEAR switch, and a SELF LEVEL bank tied to the AIL D/R switch.

Works a treat and most useful to be able to switch between different values. Busy with tail tuning on a 450x and it helps a lot to have a base (setup 2) and a test value (setup 3)

Next will be to have SL on setup #3, which would not have been as easy beforehand.

I am not sure where my mistake is but thr SL would not work for me on my IKON / DX6i.

I believe I followed your instructions completely but I was unable to verify my setup. I saw no change in the LED Blinking when I was in Gyro switch 0,1 or Ail D/R 0,1.

Possibly my problem is in the Brain Setup 1, 2 and 3. Did you make the setup changes on the advanced screen or step 12 of the wizard. It wasn’t clear what to change on the advanced screen and I could see that only Setup 1 would highlight in Green

Need to go to the Advanced Screen. First, to lock the tail gain: Common>Receiver> Gain: click the check box "Is set in software"
Then, on the same screen, configure "Setup Selection" to use Channel 5.

I discovered my mistake. actually two mistakes. I had followed the original post details, selecting... 'set in Software' and 'channel 5' as well as Gyro-- rates to 30% and 64%, MIX-- Gyro>Gyro 0% +125% and I selected the Ail D/R switch.

Although you did explain this in your original description I misunderstood the switch description as I thought Idle up switch position 2 and Ail D/R switch position 2 was would get me to Setup 3.

The second error ( I think) was I set Setup 2 as my SL action thinking it is easier to just switch the Gear switch rather than both Gear and Ail D/R to get to Setup 3 (SL). When I went through setups (I was only using switches Setup 1 and Setup 2) and set switch setting for Setup 1 then went to Basic Screen 9 and clicked on Set Level then set switch setting for Setup 2 (Idle up plus Gear switch) and went to Basic Screen 9 and Set Level.

When I did a test flight all was well until I flipped the Gear switch and my Heli did an immediate left roll. Does it sound like my mistake is I didn’t ‘Set Level’ properly or the fact I only used Setup 1 and Setup 2

To clarify switches on my DX6

Gear /F mode switch is Idle up
FLAP/Gear switch to 1 = Setup 2
FLAP/Gear Switch to 1 + Ail D/R to 1 = Setup 3

Also, I have not selected 'Use Governor' in step 12 for any of my Setups. Should I have selected Use Governor on any of the Setups? I do not have an external Governor plugged in as I was assuming my ESC would have a Governor (am I wrong?). Obviously I am pretty new to all this

It's your choice whether to use gov at all, or whether to set it up on the ESC or Ikon.

Please consider all disclaimers possible and also that the warranty on my Dx6i was void already !

From a setup and software point, I have been using the SL successfully on my 450x and 550x, but the physical switch has been pain. It was set up for the Elev D/R switch, which is a short lever and quite hard to flip. I did turn it 180 deg and t was easier to activate and then flip off.

I decided to use adjacent Flap Gyro switch but couldn't find it available in Heli setup and Mix though.Still not a momentary switch, but a longer stem and much less resistance to flip. So, swapped them around, physically and at the plug.

Open Dx6i, pull the white plug for these two switches (includes Gear switch) and swap the pins around. Unscrew and swap switches with the "new" Elev D/R switch rotated 180 deg.

Works a treat.

only you have to do is not connect de gain wire (red wire)
and connect brown wire on ch5 and orange wire on ch6
like that i do in my flysky fst6
