I thought about maybe getting the 450X when it's released, but this thing has def intrigued me. Probably cheaper replacement parts cost too. 3D performance looks pretty damn good.

Belt, you can see the front pulley in one of the pics

That's a chunky esc for the size of the heli

Basically it looks like a slightly shrunken B450. If you look at the spares list, the main gear appears to be a B450 gear for scale comparison. I'd probably ignore the battery being so close to the motor in that picture, just may be a bad angle or an oversight.

Mikel, David:

So, are we looking at a 5mm main shaft? Looks like there's a collar with a screw on the main shaft.

Any nuts and bolts in the tailboom mount or are we still screwing into plastic? Not a very big deal if it's the same deal as a B450 as we know how to deal with that.

Are we looking at a programmable ESC here? I guess not, for the price but was wondering

What blades come with this thing - I'm guessing wood or glassfibre? What headspeed?

this is my preferred tail belt drive, this is what compass does and it works great. As long as there are real teeth on that belt and drive pullys, this thing will be great. I wish the 450X was setup like this. I don't like the extra gear needed.

The parts list mentions some 4mm bearings, they could be for the main shaft, I can't imagine where else they are used

Also Wood blades listed in the parts list, CF as upgrades

i love hh promo vids i think they do the best marketing, this looks really interesting i might have to get one, slap a better tail servo on there and should be good to go. the tail in the vid looks pretty solid for a small heli of course a pro flying always helps

I was just meaning because it will have no tail motor and you can run any esc, servos and etc.. But now that you mention it I wanna say +1 to what you said and ad; In a crash with a belt it is so much cheaper when there is tail related damage., like just a boom and the fins and new cf rod

Hi guys,

Just to help answer some questions.

The main shaft is 4mm.

The tail is belt drive as mentioned.

The main gear is the same as the 450 3D/X.

One other thing to mention it is hard to tell from the photos is there is no one way bearing. This simplifies the design and reduces weight.

The 300 X does come with wood blades that perform quite well. Obviously carbons will perform better for the more advanced pilots. Also if you run the carbons you can run the optional 10t pinion (not recommended on the wood blades). This will provide extreme power!

Thanks,
James Haley

James you should be one of the sole "public format" informers for HH products.

Dear James,
Thanks for the info! However, if the main gear is as in B450, which is 140T and info at Bladehelis.com is correct "Gear Ratio 14:1" - doesn't that mean, that it comes with 10T pinion already?

@Stazz

You are correct! I apologize for the misinformation. 11t is optional.

10t is stock
11t is optional

Thanks guys I hope you like it as much as I do!

Thanks,
James Haley

So the blade sr and the blade 300x are the exact same size right? (or at least really close)

Love the fact that the blade sr is easy to fly around the yard and its really cheap to repair... Probably gonna be selling the sr to get this... but any idea of how much this will cost to repair compared to the sr not including the blades?
