There was sufficient space to do so, we were alone. It was just terrible coloring on my heli mixed with halogen lighting. Was trying too hard to be cool and it got away from me. I didn't strip my main gear tho I'm thinking of going carbon boom next time tho, the boom supports ripped both sides of the frame off, ripped the screws through the skids, broke the boom in 3 places and there isn't a scratch on the supports! Snapped my main and tail blades, bent my tail hub, bent the main shaft, broke the feathering shaft, bent the tail shaft, broke my tail servo horn, broke one sacrificial dfc arm, and a sacrifitial canopy post mount.

I have everything on hand to fix but the frame sides darn it!

Haha nice to hear it's minimal damage, I tend to like high ceilings for those punchouts and big air

If I can help it, I get the biggest area possible just for safety and room to open up, that might change tomorrow. I'm on my way to FL with my x3 so we'll see if I can find a spot to putz around a bit, I'm still waiting to fix my rewind and get 6s packs so sticking with weak 3s and crap flight time ;(

Hovering for days! I flew a 3s in my 2920kv 300x and could go a good 5 min but flips were like a mcpx.

Hey Nick, on your 300x stretch bird, do you ever notice any problem with the tail rotor having enough thrust to handle the extra rotational forces from the larger main blades? Do you think it's a non-issue or what? Maybe the leverage of the longer boom helps compensate for that.

Tail hold is pretty sweet with the stretch. I can blow it out once in a while but not often. Usually in like 20+ mph winds is what it takes. This is how it's always flown for me

Lynx 300X 4s (2 min 58 sec)

Today I broke the skids on one of my 300Xs (3S, 3600RPM, not stretched) while flying some soft 3D (nothing fancy, just fooling around). The skid mishap is at about 1:95; I was able to keep flying uninterrupted. It's been a while since I flew this one, and I forgot how underpowered 3S is compared to my 4S 300X-L, especially when it's "porked up" with the Lynx frame and heavy servos.

Video best when viewed full-screen HD.

Skid Bump Mishap - 300X - 04/11/15 @ CRCF (3 min 42 sec)

I'm resting up for a marathon morning at the dentist tomorrow. But I still might summon the energy to attack the tail rotor vibration problem on my 130x here in a few moments.

Took my XL out to stretch her blades, unfortunately the tail belt was a little too slack. Tail kicked out upside down and I put her down on the rotor... I hit TH in time so I only snapped the feathering spindle. she'll be back in the air in no time.

Managed to fly two packs until a hailstorm decided to ruin the party...

Some good fun up until then, piro flips still looks about as tight as when the village idiot decides to do some break dancing...

Sadly, I put new shelving in the garage and put both of them up on the shelf.

I need to take them out and fly them again (they really do fly very well!).

I decided to retire the Typhoon and went for an EOX, time to ramp up the head speed a bit! Stretch booms managed to find its way into the basket as well...

Any1 know if EOX will work with 4s or if it would be pushing it?

Are you still using your microheli frame? How do you like it since you've had it awhile?

It works great! Durable, light... Had to shorten the collar to fit the lynx owb, otherwise no issues with any part.

Get a spare kit of thrust and radial bearings... They wont take many crashes...

Decided to try a uBrain on one of my Lynx Framed 300xs. I was installing it on a 180cfx and had a tail servo fry when I plugged it in (no idea why) so I decided to see what a 300x install would look like.

Just used Grey 3m double sided tape and stuck all the servo extensions to the top of the ubrain and to each other. Beware that there is a good chance you will remove the top label on the uBrain if your not careful if you have to remove the servo extensions.

I think it looks ugly as heck but for 1/2 the price of a full size unit, I will live with it.

Due to weather, I wont be able to fly it till next weekend so no flight report
