The front gear must use 61T and a high kv motor, to prevent gear stripping. I have been using this setup for +60flights and the front gear is still in shape. My problem is now the rear 61T gear and I am still testing the new Delrin gears this weekend.

Adrian or bob

My One way bearing has the gear teeth loose.
It looks like they glue the teeth to the bearing surface.
I super glued it back on and looks like it will hold for a while is the a better replacement for the one way bearing with teeth attached from another manufacturer....T.T or the like?

Make sure the gear is not cracked which made it loose. Some peopl ehave reported this. If it is OK I would use green locktite to secure it to the one way bearing. CA may not hold well.

Thanks Bob

I have a couple more on the way.
I'll have to find some green ...Should not be hard in Oregon!
I got the new motor mount today and got inline for some of Adrian's gears.
I have the stock motor 'but i have been flying the 550 wood blades.
They are real smooth for a newby like me.
I have a pair of 11.1v 4400 mah batteries get 18-20 minutes hover and beginner flight. I bet the combo of big blades and heavy batteries are whats getting my gears.
What kind of pinion & gear set up would you use in this situation where head speed is not the goal but more torque to the blades and less wear on the gear train.
Have you seen the new combo kit , Has the CNC head....Some of it.
looks like they left out the stablizer and can't tell if the new motor mounts are in, carbon blades
Do you know about this new package ?
thanks again for all the good work!!

Well if you not looking for head speed the stock motor is not a bad thing!
With 4400 packs you will get GOBS of fly time

BUT 550's are big and you dont say how many cells your using... Maybe the Century 550 or a motor like it might be a good way to go?

6 cells and the CG was not bad . Not tail heavy this way.

My father in law was a crane pilot at Erickson.
He past way 10 yrs ago , but he would have flipped If he saw what you guys are doing with a heli.

Paul from Gaui said that they are shooting new materials for the gears since last week. I'll let you know if these survive torture.

I see ReadyHeli have them listed, although not in stock yet. Which gears are actually required as there are 61 & 68T 0.6 gears listed, I know stock is 61T? Is the second main gear available as well?

The p/n PC-5068 is the 68T 1st reduction gear (the one that contacts the pinion). It is in a diffrent pitch (.6M as opposed to the Gaui .8M gear) in order to give you more pinions possibilities. This gear lets you use commonly available .6M pinions for the Hirobo Lepton (18 to 26 teeth)

The p/n PC-5061 is the 61T main gear. This gear fits on the main shaft.

Note: I Recommend using M3x6mm screws to mount RevCo gears to both gear hubs. The Stock self tapping screws do not have enough bite into the material and even with the stock gears they have a nasty habit of backing out.

I have a stock Hurricane, but would like to replace the gears even though I don't have a higher power system yet.

Your site lists the 61T and 68T - Are these direct replacement or do I need a new pinion that will mesh properly?

Thanks.

You can replace all three (1st gear, main gear, hardened steel pinion) or just the main gear.

No problems there.

Just found the info after going through my stack of e-mail. They're in the "upgrade" section.

Is there a chance they'll run out before the rest of the Hurricane parts are listed? I'd rather do just one big order but don't want to miss out on these.
