Default Kontronik Pyro 750

Looks like the motor is finally hitting the shops.
Seems like there was no thread on this motor yet, so here it is.
This is the Pyro 750, weight should be around 450gr stock. It's a 14 pole motor.

First one to supply me one will get the rewind for free, on the condition I get to log it in my X7 before and after rewind.

I don't know yet
But meanwhile there is one on it's way to me, for the free rewind. So I will be able to fly and log it .

wont you get into problems with the yge and 14pole motor? It seems that certain yge's cant handle the commutation rate needed with 14 pole.

No, it seems that the low rpm limit only applies to the Xxtreme version of the YGE 160HV. The other models have 240.000 switch limit where the Xxtreme version only has 132.000.
That translates to roughly 34.000 vs 19.000rpm limit for a 14-pole motor.
What I do expect however is the esc will run hotter since it will have to switch 40% faster.

ok, I was under the impression it was for all the new yge's but apparantly the mikado version has different firmware. Nice to know, thanks.

Dekker, HeliFX, have either of you seen a Pyro 750 yet? Any idea on stator size and winding?

It is a 4425 if I'm not mistaken. Should get here the coming week.

Thanks for the info Bert. I've been trying to relate the Pyro 750 to Scorpion motors so I guess that's the 4525. If the Pyro 800 is a 5020 equivalent then I guess KT doesn't make something equivalent to a 4530/35.

Hello
You can find some pictures here: http://lambertus.info/?kontronik-pyro-750,21

good for 560U/V 4+4 1,7mm Delta:

With Kosmik FW 3.2 there no benefits with YY, Motor and Software are optimized for delta-winding.

Thanks Holger - is that a stock 750-56 or Competition version in the pictures?

Holle,

Can you elaborate a little more regarding your findings with the lack of benefits with using YY with this motor ?

is back EMF better with Delta and Kosmik ?

My Kosmik has not been playing nice with the Wind you did me Ralph.
Have had shut downs and caused me a crash last week. Might be moving a P750 in place and run the P700 6+7 in Logo 600SX.
Worked fine with HeliJive.

I wonder cause Holle has mentioned the Kosmik has been designed or optimized with Delta winding.
this is strange why its causing shutdowns with kosmik and not with HeliJive is confusing to me.
I have the exact setup on my P700 and works no issue with YGE 160HV.

Ya I was working through trouble shooting a few things when a shut down caught me off guard. By the time I realized I'd lost all head speed and no way to auto.

Part's will be here this week and I'll continue from there.
Packs are looking like a possibility but same ones used in E5 (other motor you did) with same current peaks (6S Vs 12S) and they hold Voltage pretty well.

Will update you if/when I get it sorted.

Would be great to find out the root of the shutdown cause I'm looking to get a Kosmik and would like too know if it requires any special settings with a YY rewind.

@ GoldenGimpy
Have you used the 3.2 Firmware ?

@HeliFX
The problem its, to read the Back-EMK (zero on the free phase) by low-impedance-winding. By 14P it ist more difficult then by 10P, its going faster.

We have maked first a Pyro750 with 5+4YY 1,7mm (without coating, GFK-Isopaper), the old firmware have maked any problems with it, kontronik have optimized the firmware with this motor. Then we have macked 4+4 with 1,6mm and 1,7mm, by testing there are no problems with it, but its run better.
For the Pyro750 the 4+4delta have a litle bit higher back-EMK as the 5+4YY !

Any problems at last timer we have with the connector between esc and motor, the pilots used 4mm connector, low-end-connector, and the motors shooting-down.

YY have benefits by unload generators/motors, the unload current is lower, by measuring with drive-calc (and excel) that looking good, but its not real. By loading motor with a verry strong-a-symetrics its the benefit only the moment when the back-emk is higher as the esc-voltage. The both starpoint driften, and the timing for the zero in the free Phase is better then by delta (there ist not the problem with circle-current for shootings-down). The circle-power its real over the third harmonics, and verry smal.

Holle,
Yes 3.2. Did update before ever trying controller. Would I have been better with previous version with my YY wind?

I am using EC5 Bullets between Motor and ESC and XT-150(6mm Bullet) between LiPo and ESC.

I would never use any connector with this loose cage construction. The EC5 has it the same as all the cheap 4mm goldies, creating 2 areas with resistance. Not good.
