Default 2.9g tail question, tail wiggle

Upgraded to the 2.9g tail, holds great, but I am getting tail wiggle unless I turn the Gyro sensitivity all the way down. And then it still pulses slightly. Hooked to the main ESC the tail does not pulse, nor does the main when hooked to the tail ESC.

When you upgraded to a 2.9g tail did you have to adjust anything? Could something besides the Gyro be causing this? I am using 450mah 20c batteries, the Walkera bl motor with a 16t pinion.

If you need to turn the gyro all the way down, there's something asymmetric/unbalanced in the rotorhead. Start by balancing the blades. If that doesn't work, try taking off the blades and hold the heli in your hand while spooling it up with gyro sens around 60-70%. If you get pulsing tail reaction, you need to completely disassemble & rebuild the rotorhead. Don't forget to balance the paddles as well. If that does not work, then there's a possibility you get vibration at the tail. Check for unseen tail boom crack & adding boom supports may help significantly.

I think I found the problem. The RX has stopped sending a tail signal. I connect the esc signal wire to a positive wire the tail spins, so the exc works. But plugged into the tail motor plug it does not spin. I this is the same thing that I had happen before that had made me replace my RX and speed controllers. Now I know the problem is in the RX, that is only $35 bucks, but twice in a row? I hear a tiny ticking when it is powered on, I wonder if this is the Gyro. I think the Gyro is out.

To check if the gyro works, hold the heli in your hand and spin up, Then yaw it quickly to the left (nose left/tail right) and you should hear the tail rotor speed up as you do so. Yaw it the other way and it should slow down briefly. If it does that, then the gyro works.

The tail does not spin at all. The motor and ESC work, so all I can guess is that the RX is broken in some way.

new rx, tail works, will ballance blades and see if that will help with the wiggle. Hopefully that and adjusting the gyro gain and I can get it fixed. Thanks for the suggestion to check balance.

Blades balanced one tiny piece of scotch tape makes quite a difference, I also one paddle was closer than another. I think I may have it. Thanks

I dont know if you ended up getting it or not but I have the 2.9 tail. I just recently Upgraded my novus to double brushless and love it. The tail was giving me similar problems. I actually turned my gain up a considerable amount and found that the tail held more solid and the wiggle has gone almost all the way away. It seems like something you have probably tried... But if not it worked for me. I probably turned the mix up a little over a quarter turn.
