Castl Icee lite 50 settings?
I took the warp out for a maiden flight today and it was real weak on power. I think it's something in my esc settings. In the castle link software it set to set rpm governor with 2800, 2900, 3000 for headspeads. If I go any higher I start to get warnings in the castle software. I set the pinion to 16 and the main to 135, 8 motor poles, and 1320 kv. Also in the castle link motor timing is 5º and pwm is 12 kHz. When I flew it, I could hear the rpm change with flight mode, but the heli had no power and was slow to respond on collective. I didn't have a tach with me to verify the head speed. Any ideas on what I need to change?
Setup below. Stock 1320kv motor ice lite 50 4.02 with set rpm gov Ikon fbl 12º pitch |

Dump your log. You are at probably at motor power output of 100% (the last tab). You should only hit that a few times when using set rpm.
2850 is the max with 16t. Mine flew heavy at 2800 with 260 gram battery. It actually felt like a 700, It flies better with a 1200mah battery which weighs 180g, but the cg is way off. |

copied from another thread
16t fixed endpoint gives 2850 max at 100%.. 18t fixed endpoint gives 3300 max at 100% 18t govd at 3150 is the higest you can go without bashing into 100 motor power out too often. But the warp is very quiet, It didn't sound like 3300. With 260gram battery, it felt heavy at 2850. |

Ya, that seems to be my problem looking at the log. I never look at my logs.....I should start. My batteries are also 260g, which isn't helping the issue. I'll look into lighter packs and a bigger pinion. Thanks for posting.
How do I attach a log, HF says file format not allowed? Highest headspeed was 2974 at 100 motor out, governed I think I will want the 18t and lighter packs. I got these heavy packs to help with the cg and I still need to move them forward a little. |

you can alway do a screen print with the snipping tool (type snipping into your programs command line) and post it as a jpg.

Thanks for the tip. I already have one in my box. I'll swap it out for the Castle.

Why does the Ice give lower rpm? Can you increase the timing and try again? I'm not familiar with the Ice but 5 deg doesn't sound like much.

Castle doesn't have a "degree". Its just a relative number from 1 -10. Castle support will tell you to set it at 5 which is the default. It calculates its own timing somehow and you can advance it by bumping 5 up or down.

I looked over my setup today and found that I accidentally lowered the collective pitch instead of cyclic in ikon software. I was running somewhere around 6º. Now it is set to 12º and the heli is much better, but does need a higher head speed than what is capable with castle gov on 16t and my current AUW.

FFDSM ... I am running the CC Ice Lite 50 .... 12 PWM and Medium are my motor settings. My head speed will be higher though as I have a prototype motor.
16T, 17T and 18T pinion are available right now in 4mm (stock Compass motor) and 3.17mm shaft diameters. |

i'm on ice lite 50 also.
12 pwm normal timing i have 2800,2900,3000 headspeeds. i've been flying at 2800 and have been very happy with it. on 16t you can go up to 3100, it'll have a warning, but you can still use it that high.

i just started messing with my gov gain. I'm up to 32, the collective is a lot more crisp now.
changed my spool up rate to 7, it whips through the motor noise now.
