Both of mine still flight ready. Only the FB one has seen airtime so far this year. Still think they are the best 450's around, Outrage's shortsightedness aside. Nice flights Nessie.

+1
Even better now with the Castle firmware update v4.01. I flashed my ICE-50 this weekend.
The governing is much better, and it feels like there is more power.

I did a before-and-after log review and found a few things:
Average throttle-out values went up by five points, from 75% to 80%.
Maximum current spike values are down, but the average current is up a bit.
Minimum-voltage "spikes" are a bit lower, from 3.4v per cell to around 3.3v, but still OK. With fewer high-current spikes the voltage down-spike count is reduced considerably.
I don't yet have battery charging data from the weekend to show mAh consumption, but I expect a small increase in total power consumption.
Overall, the performance is very nice. My packs had plenty of headroom, so a hit on consumption is fine with me.

I'll add some snapshots shortly....

Very nice! Why use the beast as a tail only?

(thanks).

I had a servo failure in flight on my G5 fbl.
at the same time I was going back to flybar on all my other helis. so I sold my others beastx and replaced them by ds760 gyro.
I did not find enough second hand ds760 for the G5 so I keep one beastx as tail gyro for this G5.
it works fine, so I'll go on like this.

I had the FBL one out to check its logs, and then decided to check the flybarred one. (Noticed that it was showing 3100 RPM for my last few flights...it sure didnt feel like that, why would an ICE log show that?

Did you remember to recalibrate your log viewer with motor and gear parameters?

yesterday i got my first inverted lawn mowing with the FLB g5.

Today...the earth took revenge. Lost the tail for a second (been playing with the 3x1000 a bit) and when it came back i was looking at it backwards and dumped it. the blades where burried in mud half way deep and i had to fish that skid out (i want my skid pipe back). so far, damage is main gear and skid. gotta love soft iowa mud!

Oh well, she will fly again.
