I always say when it comes to heli's bigger IS better.and with the swift it doesn't break the bank to go bigger.

I'm getting close to getting mine up. I'm Stlll waiting on 4mm bullets, 11 and 12 pinion and my gyro, so I can finish it. I ended up getting the Life pack at my lhs today. Got my servos, pitch ect.. Set up. +10/-3 to start. I want to check my log on the first, before I go more or less.

The life pack fits nicely, under the Esc tray. Pics to come.

You guys think it would be a problem placing the RX on the upper platform on the back? The gyro would go on the lower. I was thinking I might put mine there and then mount the satellite RX on the side of the frame over the Century logo. That way one RX would be positioned flat and the other vertical.

Well, got my lipos today, Stlll waiting on my gyro, but my CG is way off with my life pack up front. (added a little weights in place of gyro). Gonna move a few things around and see what works. Soooo close to maiden flight.

How's that ESC going to stay cool in the summer considering its placement and the plate you put over it?

Funny you asked, i just thought of that myself I moved it to where the life pack was and cut a hole on the front/ bottom of the canopy so air can pass over it and I can plug in the lipo with the canopy on. Pics to come.

Ahh.. After mr. Postman "ate" the first gyro I bought, he brought me another. I got it mounted and set up the best I can till my pinion shows up. I got my CG perfect now. I moved my rx to the side where century is and made a mount for my life pack on the lower rear mount. Sooooo, close. 4 mm bullets and my pinion and I'm set. Oh yeh, 5.1 step-down is waiting for me at my lhs.

Default Battery question...

As far as batteries go, what kind of difference would I see between a 4S 5000mah battery and a 5S 4000mah battery? I can get the 4S from the Hobby King's USA website for about $48. I am learning FF and circuits so power is not really a concern. Just decent flight times.

It fits nice. I moved my life to the rear and I got my CG perfect. That lipo comes with 5.5mm bullets. Now I'm waiting on those to show up.

Bec or life pack?

I see the life packs are 6.6v right? Are you using a step down or anything?

My whole system is rated at only 6v. So I was thinking 5 cell NIMH, but rather use life if I can.

Still can't decide.

What tail servo are you using? Most need to be stopped down. I have the align 5.1 step-down on my 8900g.

That's what I figured. My Futaba gy240 gyro is 6v and I'm using a blue bird bms-631 tail servo.

I'm thinking bout just getting the Castle bec and seeing how I like that. I can always sell it later.

I went with the life cause my lhs didn't have any cc bec's in stock. I'm gonna try the life, if I don't like it I'll use it to set up future helis and get a pro bec.
