ok here is the align dfc head fitted to the x50, havent got it in the air yet with the new head.
i did have to cut the mainshaft and drill a new jesus bolt hole. not to difficult to do. i put the drill into the old hole and clamped down a guide next to the mainshaft then moved it to the mark and drilled the new hole ans it came out perfect, hope we dont get rain tomorrow.

Looks nice!

What kind of hole spacing do you have on the servo wheels? You might run into some issues if your spacing isn't small enough.

What FBL unit are you using on it? You might know this already, but Thunder Tiger has metal FBL bell cranks that are really nice. If you're using the stock bell cranks, you might run into problems with having too much servo throw/not enough servo resolution. These FBL bell cranks have wider ball spacing to help alleviate or eliminate those problems.

i have the cgy750 on it and am using the white jr small wheels. i do need to tune it down more i didnt knoe those fbl links were there and am ordering those they look like what i need. i have 10 deg cyclic and 16 pitch so those look like what i need. to bring it down more

I've read where the DFC head gives lots of pitch, so these FBL arms should work out great for you.

whats the deal with the 140 ccpm setup i dont see any swashplate for it is it ment for an aftermarket swash?

No, its an actual Thunder Tiger option. It comes with everything you need for the change, including swash balls and linkage rods. You use the stock swash plate. It gives a 1:1 setup, so you would need to make sure your FBL controller has that option in setup/programming.

i ordered the 120 kit today, do you notice any difference with the 140 setup. got a quick test hover on the dfc head so for it is good. tx battery was dead so had to land.

I can't say that I notice any difference between the 140* and 120* setups. I'm not that "in-tune" with the heli.

with flybarless i dont think it would make a difference really. 140 was for trying to get rid of interaction in the swash. with FBL if theres interference its you lol.

ok so theres not much difference in 120-140, i have the e620 and that has 140 ccpm as an upgrade from 90 eccpm . are the gear on the x50 so weak ive broke 3 sets, the old raptor gear fits on very easy just a bit of grinding on the latch

its flying good with this head. ive only done loops and rolls but the rolls are much better now , like its on rails
the only thing i dont like is the anti rotation bracket is so close to the grips that its easy to pinch your finger in it when carrying.

Looks really good! The head being so low, won't there be any issues with boom strikes from the blades? Was thinking of doing this FBL setup with the DFC....

Just my opinion but I would stay away from DFC on this, or any heli. Might work out ok for a while but it will put extra forces on your swash imho. Make sure you check the swash for play once in a while.

There are numerous threads on the plus/minus of DFC head versus conventional swashdriver fbl heads. Do a bit of searching and come to your own opinion(s).

The latest SAB/Goblin helis do not come with a dfc head anymore and all their pro pilots are now running conventional swashdrivers (HPS) on their other heli's. Maybe a clue there?

Keep the dampening rigid and the hs as high as possible and you should be fine with dfc imho.

In the meantime, I'm loving my TT X50e fbl heli!

Hello TomC,

I have a Trex 600N and i have moded it before new 600 dfc kit.
So,Dfc is alittle bit more comfortable and gives more reactions than FBL head.
DFC has parts less than FBL head and takes less demage from crash.

I am trying convert to x50N DFC,i'will use 600N swash beccause x50 swash ball little bit small than 600 swash ball.
Dfc links aren't good sit on x50 swash balls.
I cound't change the balls because screw size diffrent.

But i dont know actualy shaft leght andJesus bolt must be how many mm from top of shaft?

have to use the flybar washoutarms though

I'm at 155mm Boom clearance right now
