Default Poly-X Lipo low voltage indicator

Hi all,
I'm pretty new to this forum, and pretty new to Helis in general,(so forgive me for sounding like a noob !!) .

I've just moved into CP, with a Blade SR, which I'm really enjoying so far. But I'm worried about when to stop flying, so as not to over-discharge my Lipos and damage them. I find it very hard to know when to stop !!

BUT... ive just spotted this little device and wondered if anyone has tried one and if they are any good ?? And also, what sort of voltage do I let my Lipos get to before its time to land ??

http://www.active-robots.com/product...-details.shtml

Thanks in advance for any opinions or advice on this subject.

Cheers, Pete

Does your radio have a timer? That's what most of us do.

No, I'm just using the stock radio, with no timer. But I could use my countdown timer on my watch. Is that how most people judge it ?.

We all do it that way. My radio starts the timer when I turn throttle hold off and spool up. And it sounds and vibrates at 6:00 letting me know I have about 30 seconds to come back. Or with the DX8 some are trying out the telemetry.. and the radio can sound/vibrate when you hit a certain voltage.. but thats fairly rare so far.

Ok , sounds simple enough !!
I suppose I need to gauge my flight times and remaining battery voltages to get an idea of what to set my timer to.
I think that flying until my soft low voltage cut off kicks in is letting the voltage drop TOO low ????

So , what kind of voltage (per cell , or overall for my 3S packs) should I be aiming to leave in the battery after a flight to keep the packs healthy ??

Cheers guys
