Default Stock Head

Curious how many are using the stock head, grips, and blades with their brushless setup. I am all stock on top until you get down to the micro heli swash.

Some have expressed concern about the plastic not holding up with the much higher head speeds. Anyone had a stock head or grips blow apart?

I have been running mine for quite some time with no adverse effect. Probably got 800 to 1000 flights on it. During that time I replaced the head once after a crash cracked it. Grips twice and several feathering shafts and dampers.

HP05, Hyperion 550's and a 9t pinion. Throttle curve idle 1 85 65 85. Idle 2 100. I don't know what the head speed is with this setup but aparently not high enough to cause problems.

I haven't heard of anyone to have experienced stock head to explode due to increase power of brushless setup. I still fly my helimax setup 100% throttle with stock head grip and seems strong to me.

I have ran all stock head (Hubs and Grips) in a stock frame with my 915.
Estimated 7400 rpm at 0 pitch, 100% flat throttle curve. Been using it like that for almost 2 months. Zero problems, flys wonderfully. Hard 3D constantly, so full stress testing has been done.

I made a thread about it a while back. I'll post it when I'm on the laptop.

Metal parts are over rated, and the only thing you need is a metal swash. Save money and buy lot of spares.

Thanks guys. I guess the guys expressing concern must be the same ones who are sold on buying metal parts.

Perhaps it's their excuse go do the bling thing.

Thats money waisted in my book. I'm more into function than form.

The one ugrade I would strongly recommend is Dylan's cf lower frame support. I HAVE broken my stock frame, right in front of the lower mainshaft bearing. His support would prevent that from occurring.
