Default Outrage & New Gear Set

I'm going to stirr the pot on this topic..

What is so special about the new gear set that it is worth $35??? Ask youself this when buying this Retrofit Kit... I could buy the old gears for less separatly, why am I paying more for a package deal, when I should be giving a discount for all of my heartaches!!!

$ 8.49 - Outrage Shaft Spline Set (The new style) http://www.experiencerc.com/store/r5...ne-p-3491.html

$ 3.99 - Outrage Tail Rotor Shaft Set. http://grandrc.com/Nitro-Helis-&-Par...duct_info.html

$ 10.99 - OUTRAGE Torque Tube Front Drive Set http://grandrc.com/Nitro-Helis-&-Par...duct_info.html

$ 23.47 - Total..

Outrage, Where is the other $12.00 going to??

I agree, Outrage should pay us for our R&D work! Should I expect the Royalties then??

great to see that you designed the new gear.
However I do not think its just the design work that makes it more costly. Different contractors maybe involved that may just cost more.

Comon, $12 per set.. Thats a 31% cost increase over the last junk offered.

Please note, I have about 50-75 Flights on a black set.. Most gear failures I’ve experienced were result of a crashes. Chipped a few teeth in flight, but I'm only ranting simply because I'm cheap.. For $12, you can still acquire a 4pk of the old ones if one looks hard enough.

Have you seen the new gear sets? If you have had them in your hands you may understand that they are larger and better quality.
Anyhow - no one complains if you do not buy them. i still run the black gear on the V50 N1 and N2. Nothing wring with it yet. Still since the Fusion has more torque I decided to go for the new sets in those.

Its your choice.

Yeah I've personally seen the new gear set, they look great and I'm sure they perform well. Just holding out on buying new ones as I have 16 sets of white tail gears.. lol I bought 4 - 4packs because they were cheap!

I recently picked up a used fusion 50 where I'll likely run the new gears with my set up.
