Jlog 2.6 head speed problem
Hello,
I am using a Jlog 2.6 with a Kosmik 200 updated to 4.9 firmware. I am using an Xnova 4535-460 motor and JR XG14. My problem is that I am getting a headspeed of 2700 but when I use an optical tach I'm at a headspeed of 1650. I have used the most recent Jlog program. Set the motor to 10 pole and a gear ratio of 10.69. Any ideas? Thank you, John

Yep
Use the JLog firmware with "kwa46" in its name, currently 26-K_J-46.17_kwa46.bin The setup mentioned by James as well as the "kwa" firmware is a workaround to overcome a bad bug in ESC's firmware versions 4.6 to 4.9 (JIVEpro: 1.6 to 1.9) with respect to the rpm value.

I updated to JivePro ver 1.10 and the jlog seems to read bad values again for RPM. Is there another Jlog update that fixes this?

OK.. I'm back from holidays. Just checked w/ KOSMIK 4.9 and Jpro 1.9. The workaround "kwa46" still works.
Then I wanted to test w/ Jpro 1.10. Unfortunately I bricked the ESC.. Hit "update" twice because nothing happened at first, thought that I did not really hit the button. Bingo! (All that software, obviously .NET based, is pure crap. The programmer seems to have never heard of "threads" in Visual applications. And I had the Jpro already at 1.10. It did not work with the S32 (used the S32 than a JLog), so I went back to 1.9. Did not work as well. Well .., I should have stick a note on the Pro120 that the ground pin on the option port is dead.. (In the past I looked already long time for that failure.) S32 is completely galvanically decoupled from the Kosmik /Jpro, so the missing ground acts thoroughly. Then I built a ground replacement, wanted to go back to 1.10 - and then it happened because of this software crap. With the best will, - "professional" looks different.) So I updated the KOSMIK to 4.10 and it continues to work. (the workaround "kwa46" - Nothing is as constant as bugs made by Kontronik.) Tach: Could it be that you have set on 3-blade accidentally? RPM motor goes to the transmitter. Did you use "optical" or "magnetic" as sensor type? You need to. "Propeller" is off?

I live in fear of that every time I do an update.
Hope you get it fixed up soon. |

I have updated my Jive Pro to 1.10 and it still works with the Jlog. Jlog is on the workaround firmware "kwa46".

aziz76, is the RPM still working?
For me, everything else is fine but the RPM is way off. |

Yes it is. Tested on the bench it works fine. I will be flying it on friday, but I spooled up to 1850 which is my IU1 on my Diabolo 550 and it's right where it should be:

Thanks.
I'll go back and redo everything from scratch. I must have messed something up. |

Make a photo from the rpm setup in your transmitter, please.
Give me the ID of your device (in version.txt on the SD), please. Then let's log what's going on. Attach CONFIG.txt

I have the poles set on the JivePro and the gear ratio set on the JLog. Also using "kwa" firmware on the JLog. JivePro was updated, then did Mode 1, Mode 4, the set poles and BEC voltage using prog unit.
That's all I did. I hope that helps

I started over and programmed the ESC and Jlog again and all work fine now.
Sorry for the false alarm. |
