Terrifying tail oscillation/vibration in gov mode

Good to know. I will be trying out a HW sensor now. When using the EagleTree I could get it to take over at low ramp but then nothing would happen at mid ramp even if I waited. Then high ramp would take over and spool up from RPM 1 to RPM 3.

What does the log say, if its even saved? if you have one upload it please.
Can you describe more carefully what you did before the problem started?
I would save the setup and do a hard reset with bind plug. Next step after that is to contact SK....

So here is what happened in chronological order:

I redid wiring, installed HW RPM sensor and connected SK to computer and selected playback logging mode.

I turn heli on, LED was red until gyros initialized, then solid green. GPS unit is now blinking blue trying t find satellites but we are indoors. I spool heli up on bench, everything seems fine, turn heli off. Go plug SK into computer. View playback in software. See that RPM reading is a bit high, might be due to no blades, have to test later. Ok, time to check vibration. Go to SK software, select vibration logging, save changes to gyro, unplug SK.

Go back to bench, power on heli, LED flashes red for a half-second then goes to slow green flash. Manual says this is setup mode. I can control tail, cyclic and collective but motor will not spin.

Go back to computer check inputs from receiver, everything looks ok. Switch back to playback logging. Try to start heli on bench, same behavior, slow flashing green light.

Connect ESC directly to separate receiver, reset throttle endpoints in ESC and then in SK software with SK connected. Motor spins when ESC is directly connected to separate receiver. Reconnect ESC to SK, same behavior.

Disconnect GPS, same behavior. Connect GPS and select compass swing in software, same behavior.

I no longer have the log that was made during that first bench test where everything was fine. Seeing as I was preparing a fresh setup on my heli and the SK was full of files I cleared them... After that I cannot create a log as heli goes straight into setup mode when turned on. The setup file that I am currently sending to the heli via the SK software is the file I uploaded in my previous post.

Update. I did the hard reset and reloaded my setup file. Same problem
Did the hard reset again and redid the whole setup with the wizards. Same problem.

When having the blinking green - is the gyro compensating or not? tilt the heli and see if the swash moves.
Contact cleaner into the USB socket to clean - maybe you have a short. put some on the cable side and some good spray in the socket and then play with the plug inside the socket.
If doesn't help - disconnect your Bluetooth

Ok I will try cleaning out the contacts.

Heli powered on and green light flashing, swash does not move if I tilt the heli.

What Bluetooth are you talking about? The SK doesn't have bluetooth does it?

Yes I used bind plug and when starting software I then saw" warning:memory erased."

Contact cleaner didn't help. It was a good idea though. Its like the SK thinks it is connected to field terminal or computer. Why else would it go into setup mode?

Try cleaning the field terminal port the same way.

few more ideas:
did you try disconnecting all the plugs except the sbus and see what happens?
if that doesn't work as well you could try re flashing the firmware. sometimes its possible.

Cleaning other ports and only connecting via sbus gave same results. How does one reflash firmware?

Same as normal update. sometimes it is possible you can try it and choose to update for the same version if it lets you.

That is the last option i can think of - next is Info@Skookumrobotics.com...
