300X weights
For grins I thought I'd post the weight of my 300X --with battery. I didn't notice another recent thread. Main reason was I just spent some time with reducing the AUW of my TRex 250 (292 g with pack) and also noticed the recent announcement by OXY and Microheli on their "300" size helis (250mm blades). At least to me, the OXY seems a bit heavy, but time will tell if that matters or not.
My 300X has a Don's Wicked motor (heavier than stock) Talon 25A ESC (lighter than stock) Blade CF Main Blades Standard Stock Eflite 3s pack The rest of it is stock (DS76 servos, AR7200BX, etc. So total weight comes out at 487g. |

Mine is definitely the super heavyweight in this bout.

MH frame
TGY 306 servos Typhoon 2218 yep 40 CF Boom Lynx Swash, hub and grips Lynx tail Super skids Lynx canopy CF blades MH gear and OWB AUW=615g I didn't really like flying this much as it tended to drop very fast when coming off the collective... but I've just replaced the 13t with a 14t pinion... It now flys great at 3700 and up to 3900.

It seems some are posting weights with pack and some without so, for those that don't have this bird in front of them, a 3s 1350mah pack for it would be around 117g with an EC3 connector.

I agree. AUW is a much better representation.

Going to be different based on the battery used. Different C rated batteries weight different amounts and then different brands will weigh different too. Some of us also fly 1500mAh batteries.

And so it will be heavier. No crime, but batteries add weight just like other components. They also can add flight time, and potential of higher current draw, if the setup tries to pull it.

My interest in this thread is really about how many total grams people are slinging around in the air.

I just ordered some 1300mAh 4S packs so mine's about to go up a little more on the scale. Oh well, it's a sickness. I'm going to pump this beotch up to around 3800 RPM on 245mm CF blades and see what it can do. Hopefully the tail will hold better than with the plastic 275mm stretch setup.

TP packs? Stock blades? I'm staying stock length as well. Our machines will def be on the heavy side with 4s and the 2920. Did you ever run it at 3600rpm on stock length to see how she does? Just wondering. I haven't maidened on 4S yet since i'm waiting on a Lynx mainshaft to arrive. Not risking it on stock shaft with this kind of power. I suspect mine will be in the 650g range as well. I'll post findings in next few days.

To answer your other questions, I'm using Turnigy Nano-Tech 1000mAh 4S 45C packs right now. If they fit OK I'll be switching to Nano-Tech 1300mAh 4S 45C packs once they arrive. I have been flying with the 275mm Lynx plastic blades, but after this crash last weekend due to tail blow out I'm going to try it with 245mm Lynx CF blades to see if the tail can hold on better. If it does, great. If not then I'll have to go back to the drawing board.

Aren't you tail heavy with the stretch and 1000mah packs?
