Default Is it needed?

Hello everyone,
I was just wondering if it was really necessary to have the rear vertical stabilizer in place. I haven't had it on there since i bought it, since i was only hovering (took it off because it was blocking too much tail rotor wash). Since i have now conquered hovering all directions, and the SMALL amount of ff i can do in a basement, i was wondering if it would add any stability to ff when i can actually get out in an open area, or if it more of a cosmetic thing. TIA

On the HoneyBeeFP-EFlightWiki the photo shows a white HBFP without the tailfin and strut. If it flies better without it I'd say leave it off.
