dunno if the RC/PUH versions will work
I have now tried to get it to work (PUH) with the VBar but can not get it to work.

Wonder if it can be disrupted by being mounted too near the spark plug?

That is probably too close. The cladding on the gator can stand the heat but too close for the wires.
As for working on the V-bar, again it is like the futaba 701/750 issue of too low a voltage for the sensor port. You need to buy or make a extention to power the gator from the radio reciever, making sure you do not run power to both the vbar and the sensor wire at the same time. You can buy a modified "Y" connector from Adam or OCR here on the Freak, OR,

If you want to do it yourself, then try this. Carefully pull the red wire from the servo wire going to the gov from the SG. Then carefully put that red wire into another servo plug by itself, then plug that 2nd servo plug into the receiver.
This will put power into the stator gator so it can send a signal to the gov. without sending power directly into the power bus on the 701/750.

Hi,

Currently, does anyone know if the RC stator gator work with Skookum Flybarless SK 720 or bavarian Demon 3SX (former HC-3SX) with governor and auto leveling?

I´m not sure if 3SX have a governor.

Thanks.

No governor on the 3sx, it does work with the Skookum.

Will the Stator Gator work with the Multi8Pro Governor? If not...where would I mount a magnet sensor setup on the Whiplash w/TRM270TT motor?

I'm just running the standard sensor that came with my governor. It detects the RPM from the magnet that's is on the fan. Just put the sensor right up next to the fan cover on the engine. I have mine "gooped" to the carbor engine mount plate, next to one of the mounting bolts that hold the engine to the plate.

Before you glue it in place turn the engine over a few times and make sure the sensor/gov is detecting the magnet.

Rudy...you mean the magnet that is built into the fly wheel, the same magnet the coil uses? I would not have thought about using that magnet!

So, does your gov hold the rpm well? Any over rev's like coming from a dive?

While I not a 3d flier, it appears to hold very well. I guess the test is when I do 540 stall turns and pull the collective back to zero degrees during the 540 and hold it there as the helicopter is coming back down. Or maybe when I do square loops and the gov holds on the backside when heading straight down with zero degrees of pitch.

I have had people tach my head while flying around and the RPM held during the fly.

Cool!!! Thanks Rudy! I'll look into that mod for next weeks project.

This weekend, our club is having [or allowing me to have] a heli fun fly. I put in for vacation for next week. If the boss approves, that will give me time to investigate changing over to the magnet pickup instead...besides fixing 3 other helis!

Then there's the all day test flights!

I don't know. Its not in their list of supported Rx.

if you split off the signal and power it directly from an Rx port it seems to work on most of the governors out there

I have a question, do you have any experience with the cgy750 and stator gator ? Do I se it to 2 pole ? and set the RPM limit or governor normally ?

I havent got any answer from the stator gator it self, so I hope you can shed a light

Thanks in advance

Any solid answer on if it works with the Spartan Vortex? Will be for a upcoming build, just need to know if I'm going to go Spartan or budget the funds for a Vbar.

No idea if it will work on the Vortex, it Will work with the power mod the V-bar for sure though, I would recommend go the V-bar route if I were you.

while i love my 3 vortex units i am familiar with the vbar and its governor also. the 2 channel set up would be nice and the silverline will work great on a gasser.
