Default Pinion Size?

I'm currently running a 9 tooth and have a head speed of 3200 to 3300 and the heli feels likes it's just not alive. I'm looking for more pop and heed speed but I'm still running the stock motor. Is it worth going to the 10 tooth pinion? I was leaning towards the Lynx hub and pinion setup but i want a setup I can use with the stock motor without bogging it down. So at what head speed and pinion are most people for flying a 3d setup?

Thanks

Stock 320 motor and ESC , went from 9T stock pinion 3200 to a 10T and HS now 3600 ,both at 100% Throttle. My 300 is mostly Micro Heli with a LynuX Tail.

3600 is much nicer than 3200. Motor and ESC stay cool as in aprox. 15F above ambient ,4 min. flights 700 to 800 mAh used from a 1300.,

I'll try a 10 and see how it goes. Now all I need a 10 tooth pinion. The local shop does not have it in stock.

Thanks

Be careful running 3600HS+. A braced frame at the least is highly recommended.

I put the frame braces on from day one. As the frame is one of the weakest links on the 300x.

Thanks

I ordered a 10 tooth yesterday and looking for a Saturday delivery. If I were to go more aggressive then Lynx hub and pinion set would like look the right way to go. I'm not sure how aggressive you can go with the stock motor setup before bogging becomes an issue?

Well I tried an 11 on mine and although it had crazy head speed,it did`nt have the torque it needed to pull thru some agresive stunts.A 10 works out right on the edge of bogging and does some ur pitch is running over 12 + or - .So i`m running a 10 on mine and backed off the pitch to 11.5 and it does just fine.My other is running a 9 stocker with the pitch at 14 and it does realy well till I push it way to hard and it boggs a bit ..but not too bad. It`s a give and take thing but most replace it with a Wicked ,Parkfly,Scorpion or others that have more grunt in `em.I ran a 420h in one for awhile gave it more on the torque for sure but realy nothing to wright home about. My next step is to drop a 450h in one ..saw a guy on here that did that...crazy torque and hs ...

CFX, Same motor same esc comes stock with a 11 tooth.

My pinion came a day early.YES! I have the head speed right where it now comes alive and is more fum to fly. Then after about 5 flights it started to feel like the cyclic was getting sloppy. It looks like my head dampeners are toast time to upgrade them to Lynx.

That is great and oh darn, I guess the stock ones are crap.

Stupid question but does anyone know if I switch to the lynx, micro heli or blade aluminum head will the stock dampers and spindle work? I sure hope so cause i got a few of them.
