Default Question on servos for a Trex 450.Hitec HS-65 and HS-81

I know everyone loves the HS-65's and I had them in my old 450 but what about the HS-81's?The HS-65's have less TQ and speed than the HS-81's.The 65 has 0.14 in speed and 24.99 in torque, the 81 has 0.11 in speed and 35.10 in torque. Can someone tell me the reason for not useing or recommending the HS-81's.

Correct they are the wrong size for trex. Does work on the tail with a 401 though it a cheep alternative if your on a budget. Not the bet tail servo but it holds good enought for mild 3d. What I am flying at the moment.

Some people have made them fit, but they are a good bit larger, especially in length.

Yes only in HH mode you just cant have the gyro in digital mode. Works desent no where near as good as a 9257 or 3400g but it gets the job done. Also I would say they are atleast 10 or 15 mm longer then a hs-65 you can check the stats on them both at Servocity.com

To go through the trouble and expense doesn't make much sense. Take the money you would be using and just get a better mini servo. 81s are OK but they aren't digital. If you're going to get all new servos and hack up a frame set you'd be better off getting a JR digi or something like that. Even the HS-5065.

65's are great servo's just not the most expensive out there. If you want some better ones check out the hs-5066's they are the new digital version of the hs-65. In all reality there isnt much need for something faster in the 450 sized helis. If you want insane just get you a 600e and put 8117 running at 8 volts in it.

Im not asking for the most expensive servos out there I just wanted to know about the 2 I posted cause I can get 5 of the 81's from a friend for $20.00.I'll get another Raptor 30 before the 600E cause im not about to pay $600.00 for a good lipo setup ect.. and I loved my R30 anyways
Raptor (8 min 7 sec)
.I just pretty much wanna buy some used frames off ebay and put the dremel to the servo housing cause the HS-81's have ALOT more tq and speed than the HS 65's.

Haha, yea Pinecone said people have done it so im giving it a shot.If you think about it the 81's have way more tq and the speed is a little more better than the 65's so with a good lipo the heli should move pretty fast and flip/roll nicely in 1 spot (faster).I'll post video when its finished once spring gets here.I only have a little over 6 months of exp of flying/sim total so dont mind my noob flying skills lol but this is my Trex 450 with the HS-65hb's,the esc started cutting out in the start but im thinking it will flip, roll and pop up and down faster with the HS-81's
Best video so far (5 min 58 sec)
.BTW,click watch in high quality cause the video comes in better..
