I have a feeling they will have a V2 without a battery, ESC, and motor.

A local hobby shop said they will be selling the 'new V2' kit for $10 to $20 less than the current kit(before the inventory V1 price reductions) when they get them in in March. I am not sure what they are selling the current kit for though. Probably around $500 or $10 - $20 more. I didn't want to wait until they had stock sometime in march though so I payed a little more to get it sooner.

Anyone know the answer to my question?

As I understood it from Bob's vid everything can be used on the 450 except the separate head parts. You can use the whole upper head but feathering shaft/blade grips etc not on the old head.
Nice to see a lot of the parts are miniature versions of the 600.......

hope you have to replace the head block to as the feathering shaft has been upsized thea 4mm and the old feathering shaft is 3mm the new FS will not fit though the old head block.

Everything on the head is NOT compatiable with the old head. If you want the thrust bearing head you will need.
1) The head block
2) The spindle
3) ALL the bearings
4) the blade grips.
5) Dampeners
6) Grip spacers

None of the above is compatible with the old SE head. From the head down eveything is the same between the SE and SE V2 and those upgrades like the washout with the longer bushing, washout mixer arms with bushings, and seesaw with ball bearings is available now!

Wow, the new head really looks like a baby 600 head. I had deja vu when I was watching the video.
I'm glad I waited for the V2!

Anyone know of where I could get one. I've checked readyheli and GrandRC and both seem to think mid march.

It'll be a while. Bob said that there were only about 80 kits in the first shipment to the US.

I'm hopefully getting mine next week. Got thinking though...what about parts?

Finless have you heard about the parts? Would suck to get the new heli and crash it on the first weekend then have to wait a month for the new spindle

Parts ARE going to be a problem for early adaptors of the V2... BUT they are on the way! It will take some time to get all the vendors supplied with parts but dont worry young grasshopper... It wont take long knowing Align!

The item i want in my parts box ASAP is the feathering shaft (spindle).

IMHO -If you have a T-Rex such as the "Cheap Plastic" 450SA that I own and seen Szabo fly it amazingly, AND you cannot fly as good as he, what is the point of purchasing this new one? Suddenly your older one that is probably very capable in the right hands does not look so good next to this new one. Save your money. The only people that should buy this is someone in the market for a SE or someone who just completely destroyed their current heli. Why else would anyone waste their money? Yeah, I no it looks cool and has improvements.... I think the Szabo brothers saved up like 6 months to buy their heli. Do you think he was running out every release and buying a new one. I doubt it (until you have people throw stuff at you). But I do bet he was flying the crap out of it and milked it to the bone and did stuff with the same heli that others could not do with helis 6 versions later. It does help to have the latest technology in some cases say if you have an older machine that just does not have the ability to perform as a newer model. I know some of this is easier said then done as we all sometimes have a wondering eye for new technology. People are rediculous these days. I can't even buy a F%$@ing Christmas gift that the kids want unless my wife shops 2 months before -everyone buys everything up like it is the end of the world.

Bob, thanks for the great V2 videos. I just picked one up and will be building my first Trex 45SE in a few months. Between now and then, I'll be a frequent visitor to the forums to learn the tricks of the trade for building this thing. Thanks again.
