Default I have beat this thing so hard starting to feel bad

I have beat the crap out of this thing. I fly it like it isnt mine. I dont even hesitate to try new things. Just be quick with TH.Walls, chairs, cement, pavement nothing is to good for my little Nano. It just keeps going and going like the Energizer bunny. This thing is unbelievable. This is just straight up heli abuse.

It got away from me working inverted circuits this morning. I hit throttle hold as it headed for the gutters on my garage. I wound up missing the gutter, skipping it off the roof, and then bouncing it off the ground about 10 feet down.

Picked it up, reset for launch, flew the rest of the pack! I love this thing!

I had a flight where TH was delayed for a few seconds, and I ended up plowing the nano into my concrete driveway a few times, inverted (blades first), at full RPM. Didn't even bend the spindle! The only part I've replaced (not counting a mangled canopy and struts) in about 80 flights is the motor.

As an aside, that TH delay was weird -- hopefully that never happens again! I could even reproduce it on the ground with the blades stopped. Hit TH, one one thousand, two one thousand... then the blades suddenly change pitch.

That is weird, what radio are you using,

My dx8 shuts it down instantly.

DX6i, and this is the first time it's happened in 4 years on 10 models. (Sorry, didn't mean to hijack this thread, will open another thread if I can reproduce the problem.

That happens when you hit LVC. Don't fly more than 3:30 with these little guys if you want things to last.

I've done this with my nano, just because I accidentaly picked up a discharged lipo instead of a freshly charged one. After about 45 seconds the heli started to lose power. I hit TH, but it was already starting to blink and went into LVC mode. Once it does this the nano will shut down in its own manner. LVC over rides TH when it is engaged.

Luckily I wasn't over the neighbors yard while this happened.. They have a pool and I fly over it quite often (I fly off my second floor balcony). Love making little wave ripples after doing nearly plunged inverted climb outs! I know there's going to be a day when I knock on their door with some swim trunks on, ready to go dive for my heli. LOL

I wasn't even close to LVC in this case (first happened about 1:00 in, and I continued to fly in IU for another 2:00 or so). Fortunately it hasn't happened again so far...

Default This thing rocks!

I have beat the hell out of it. I have a small living room so I am constantly pounding it in to the walls. I charge the batteries at 5C and uasuly run them past 80%. I have over 250 flights on this thing. Crash damage so far has been landing gear, tail boom, cracked canopy, tail motor. Canopy has been fixed with tape. Landing gear fixed several times with CA and thread. The only part I actually had to replace was the tail motor and boom. I forgot to mention when flying 3D I probably crash it at least 4 times a flight. That's like 1000 crashes for 15 bucks.

I just got my nano yesterday and put 4 flights on her. I haven't had much r/c stick time as of late so flying yesterday was pretty sloppy to say the least and I dumped her numerous times in the grass as well as in the garage. All in all I love it. Slight tail wiggle and slight tail drift, but everything is brand new so will see what happens as everything breaks in more.

I have to agree on the delayed throttle hold when at or near LVC. I have fixed it by making sure to NOT fly it long enough to get to that battery level.

Dag nab it. Finally broke it.

I have 37 flights on it. I probably crash on average 3-4 times per flight. Usually one really hard crash each day. I figure I safely had 125 crashes before I actually damaged it. The 1st thing to go on mine was the control horn on one of the main blade grips. On a different note, I'm not sure my motor is going to last much longer. It is starting to struggle.

Well that's good to hear! I'm glad it isn't happening anymore... That's an odd quirk to just vanished on its own... It was probably your lipo.

I first saw this post before I was a registered user so now that I’m “in” I just had to say that there is funny. I laughed so hard I cried!!! I too am guilty of heli abuse but I’m trying to be careful! I fly like I’m going to have to fix it when I break it. I agree Nano is very tough!
