a year is about the same as me.

its amazing what you can learn in that time. last yr i thought backwards and inverted flight was literally impossible however long i tried, but now i can do them without thinking.

currently im learning piro tic tocs, curly shuffles [what nutter thought up that name ], backwards rolling circles [i think that ones a long term project], piro fig 8s with a upright/inverted transition [ ] and rotating tic tocs.

not sure there is an end to this learning curve. with all the combo moves, orientations and possible morphs and links between moves,[mostly un named] it might be infinite

That the truth there is always something new to learn and master in this hobby. I am getting better at reversals and piro flips finally. My piro circles look half way decent, but piro loops are kicking my ass at the moment. I really hope I can get good enough to enter a contest or two..

I never realized there were so many actual moves. all I do is fly it.
course I've only been doing this since last year.

ive never even heard of piro loops. now thats something id like to see.

got me thinking. wonder if its possible to do continuous vertical pirouetting circuits. i would imagine it would be impossible to sustain the necessary momentum

another move ive thought might be possible but never seen done is to fly backwards circuits in a spiraling motion. i can do the spiral in a straight line but cant imagine how id control where it goes

the flight envelope opens up tremendously once the pilot can fly in all four major orientations: upright, inverted, backwards, backwards inverted.

i think its true that helis are the most maneuverable of all flying objects. so its not suprising there are so many potential moves. not all tricks are physically possible of course, but largely the limitations of a heli are the imagination and skill of the pilot.

there are many types of moves and figures, which are great on there own, but what makes it fascinating (and an art) is they can be strung together in an almost endless variety of creative combinations.

Talking Newbie U809 Cobra missile-launch practice

Target practice on my new missile-launching Helizone Combat fighter. Yes, I'm new at this. Got my first heli (Syma S107) for Christmas.

Just started nose-down tic tocs this week. I have quite a bit of practice yet to do with nose-left. I have nose-right nailed down though. I want to be able to do 4-point tic tocs at the field this year.

Thanks Raza.

I can make aileron and tail corrections during the maneuver while nose-down. Same with tail down. Same with elevator and tail corrections tail-left, but struggling with the corrections during tail-right.

I have plenty of time to practice being it's dead of winter here.

Thanks for the morale boost, Raza.

Been working on this for a while now. Last year I was only doing tail-down and nose-right tic-tocs at the field. So the nose-down and nose-left you'll see in this video are just Sim skills. Same with the 4-point. There's so much going on in this manuever, and timing is critical! I still have a ways to go before they get pretty. But I'm happy so far and am confident that I can pull this off with the real heli once spring arrives.

havent flown since sept either, i failed to get a 50 nitro flying so i bought this and i switched from a dx8 to the 8fg which is
