Default So what is you're opinion about that Toki 40?

Hey guy's what is you're opinion about the Toki 40? What is you're experience? Just got one with a helicopter fairly cheap and Mecoa still selling them for 240 or so with muffler. Thank you!

The 30 class and 60 class heli's have the worst power to weight ratio
The Toki 40 is helping to fix that problem for the 30 class

Of course my Hawk pro 30 has a Toki 40 with Toki muffler. It has power as my Trex 600 with os 50 hyper and align muffler. But have you had one? How reliable was it to you? Mine is runing good and have gob of power. I need to change gearing because it's has a lot of power. Yes my Century hawk 30 pro flies like a 50. Keep in mind there is two different Toki 4o. The silver one and Dark green. They both are different engine.

Mine has a red head on it, what version is that one, when It was new, it was great, after a 6 year storage, it now keeps leaning out on me, maybe a bad bearing,
the carb gasket was bad and the carb screws were leaking, fixed those issues, and still kept leaning out, full rebuild on the carb, still leaned out on me,

could there be a bad bearing ? yes already replaced the fuel lines.
this motor might be to much for the Nx4

Hi bro yea could be that you're ball bearings is sticky well it prove that it is failing you have to take apart. Also it could be that the rubber oring on idle screw is cracking and leaking or not holding so it's rotating. I would pull down the engine, take off the glo plug rotate it if it rotate freely then ball bearings and rest of the engine is good could be more of a carb problem.

Default That is cheap

I owned one years back. It was a POS. I couldn't get it to run right. It exploded within the first two minutes of flight. The crank shaft ate itself. That was back went it was warrantied by Century. They fixed it after keeping it for two months.

It ran intermittently after that. You had to adjust the needles daily to keep it running. I had some pretty experienced people helping me at the time. They gave up on it.

What I remember the most is the day it went out of tune because, one of the screws holding the carb on fell out while I was trying to tune it. It wasn't even a machine screw?

Funny thing is there is a whole cheerleading team for this engine? go figure.

Well duh there is couple different version of Toki. The one century was offering is made by Century. Which is the black one. They were POS. But pretty experience sometime is not enough. It effect alot of carb is leaking air or dirt inside of it. Now Toki is own by Mecoa.

Why did you ask?

And don't forget.

Just not me, and it looks like the carb screws into the engine the same way it always did. And the head is black instead of red, that should make a difference.

I am just saying if it was a different engine, they would have given it a different name, no?

I ask for opinion before I got together with others. But since I owned it and got together with many people they had good luck with these. Problem is tuning and the carb is different on the grey carb. The grey egine had soooo much problems. Thee is 3 differnt toki. I'm sorry but you need to learn the history of them. You have to learn that there were clones and what Century offer at first was TOKI black heat sink inside is bit different. Then Century wanted to produce clones of Toki 40. But you'rs might not be different compare to what I had. But the silver carbs are sensitive, screw on carb doesn't matter on it because if it doesn't leak then ur ok for leaks. My engine ran good and same goes to other people that own it around the world same goes to club i sometime fly at. Want a genuin TOKI 40 Mecoa has'em. Test them out. So ROFL TO U.

Sounds like you have a large "worldly" following on either facebook or twitter, but........ I'm not seeing a worldly response here?

I know the history of them, they are POS engines with poor Quality Control. Which is why some work and some don't. If you understood how production in a machine shop works, you would understand why quality control is so important.

Sounds like a star wars movie. You don't clone machined parts, you rebrand them. Take the OS50 and the Align50, same engine. Now take the Toki40 and the Toki40, Your telling me that they are different engines. One is cloned and one is not cloned? What does that mean.

I would love to tell you that you are correct and pat you on the back, but, then we would BOTH be WRONG, and I'd be misleading you.

Either way, I hope that your TOKI .40 is one of the better ones.

And Merry Xmas ROFL to U, too.

P.S. do not ask for opinions if you do not want them.

I did wanted opinion but this while back. We're not talking about re label. We're talking about clone made in other factory with their own cnc machine. God bless you and Merry Christmas to you. Remember not only day is for giving but celebration of god only son. Jesus Christ. In that day he was born.
