Is it my tail FET or motor going bad?
How do you test this? Im not sure if its my tail motor or the Fet thats going. Seems like the tail motor starts going out after a few flights. Today, it totally shut down and even swapping motors didnt work. Im thinking its the fet? But after about 30 min or so it worked fine again. I remember seeing a link to a place to buy tail fets but I cant find it? Any help or tips would be great! Thanks!!

Probably not much help but are you positive the wiring, connector and solder joints are all perfect?
Hope some here can help you. |

Yeah, put on a different tail boom/motor and nothing changed. It's been working fine after that 30 min "cool down" though. I'm guessin something overheated? Weird thing is, I got desperate while troubleshooting so I plugged the main motor into the tail plug...it worked! Gremlins maybe?

FETs normally go out by never working again or being always on 100%. Intermittent FETs are EXTREMELY rare.
I would look at your motor connector. On the 3 in 1 there are 2 holes to plug the motor into. Inside those holes are little springs that hold your tail plug in. If you look very close you will see 2 metal cylinders for each hole. The inner cylinder has the springs. Make sure it is still there. They come out often and require you to install a new receptacle. If one hole looks bigger than the other the pin retainers are gone. |
