This is the first time I have been remotely tempted to install the fuse.
Looks great. Shame you will have to cover it with heatshrink, get some clear HS !!

Thanks for the pic, looks good, so I will make more of those. Btw. I would recommend to screw it slightly differently together, having the the Kosmik connection touching the fuse. The plating in the holder can handle theoretic current up to 1000 Amp at delta T of 15°C, I testet 150 Amps (which did perform perfectly delata T around 3°C) but still better having no additional lossy path in any way.

I thought that the plating looked very nice and substantial and wasn't really going to worry about the fuse position with this.
Up to me I suppose, but is this a major problem doing it this way then?

Yes, it is 100% safe to fly this way. It is just how I would do it...

I like the concept but cant help to wonder, the concern about soldering heavy lugs with bolts to the board and now attaching even more counter weight to the lug, how about a bracket that can support the lug against the casing. Im sure fixing the wires with cable ties will help but support bracket will help in crash as well, modifying the existing board slightly to fasten both sides will also help by spreading the load and easy to implement
