How about flipping the small red switch labeled "2" hidden under the batteries? That should give you CP2-style CCPM with reversed collective... Maybe some experimenting with the reverser switches would then set things straight.
Yes, I'm sure it would be fine but I would do that as a last resort and would play with the switches first (Like you said) And it looks like that has worked fine.

Not dumb at all...actually..more like an inadvertent trip through "Learners Lane".
Glad you got it sorted man....now go shred some air!!!

+1. Not dumb at all - after all, you're trying to make a very basic stock transmitter do stuff it was never designed for. With all the possible ways to plug everything in and set the switches, it can easily get confusing. Nice work getting it all sorted in the end.

Just out of curiosity, what settings did you end up with? This question keeps popping up occasionally as new pilots get their EXI kits to replace broken Belt CP airframes. I never did it myself before getting rid of all my FM receivers, so I'm kinda groping in the dark when I try to figure out what's going on with the Esky CCPM on a T-Rex servo layout.

Thanks for your patience and understanding. Here's what I have on the Exi with stock Esky receiver and Tx (and, it now seems to work fine):

Left Front Servo: Ch 1
Rear Servo: Ch 2
ESC: Ch 3
Gyro/Tail Servo: Ch 4
Right Front Servo: Ch 6

Ail: Normal
Ele: Normal
Thr: Normal
Rud: Normal

And, this is with the #2 switch left "On".

Hope it helps, and thanks again for pointing me in the right direction.
