Default 6-1 Charge Cable

Hi,

Is there a 6-1 charge cable somewhere that I can purchase? I cannot find any.

Progressive RC has them and they are top quality!

That's what Progressive calls them. Actually, the connectors are called Molex picoblade 2 pin female header so I guess pico is close enough.

I was immediately ready to make the purchase when they were in stock...then I realized they were Parallel cables.

I've got the paraboard from EP Buddy that can do 6 1s picos at a time. Parallel charging never seems to charge these 1s lipos evenly for me. Now that I'm spending more money for 200-240 mAh lipos, I'd rather take better care of them and balance charge.

What I want is a series connector. Astroid Designs went out of stock on them right as I placed my last BL order. Any idea who carries them?

Interesting. I didn't know Ohm's law was a variable.

Default Parallel charging

I have noticed that if, after charge, I leave the batteries on the parallel charge cable a few hours before flying, they sometimes all seem to be a little weak. If I fly them immediately after charge is done, they usually are good. I think what is happening is I have some marginal ones in the batch and they are decreasing the charge in all of them when they sit for a while

Would you mind elaborating? Are you saying that some of these batteries are exhibiting differing resistances? My statement was purely anecdotal based on my own experiences and maybe it was wrong. After quite a few months of lurking this forum, I've found your posts have always been informative; yet, this hints of sarcasm. It never seemed that batteries of slightly different charge states ever evenly reached 4.20v. Balance charging my 1s lipos using a 3-1s series connector has yielded much better results.

Not sarcasm, just a comment so please don't take offense. I'm just saying Ohm's law applies equally reguardless of the charging method.
Seldomly do I have a battery or batteries charge to exactly 4.2 volts with my iCharger. When I first upgraded from a cheaper charger, an AC680 which always said my batteries were charged to 4.20 volts, my batteries where charging to 4.17 to 4.19 volts once the charging cycle was complete. I even called David at Progressive RC because I was concerned that the charger I bought from them was defective. He told me that the cheaper chargers round the numbers up, are not as accurate as the better chargers and batteries never really charge to a full 4.2 volts. The numbers I got with the iCharger were the actual votage of the cell and were normal.

That might be a good thing with the cheaper chargers and beginners as I've heard that charging your packs to less than 100% (say 95-98%) will prolong their lives.

Now of course, if you are a 3D Macho Man, you will need 4.2V from every cell!

My charger reports a slightly higher voltage so it ends the charge when the cells reach 4.17-4.18V as measured by my trusty Fluke. But I do parallel charge 4 stock Nano batteries at a time with no issues.
