Default 450X DFC Head - Blade Grip Washers

I've just installed a Lynx DFC head on one of my 450Xs (which also has a lot of other Lynx stuff on it).

I also got a set of Zeal 325 blade to go with it.

However, when I try to mount the blades (and probably any other blades for that matter) the aluminium washers that came with the head are TOO big (even the ones that came with Zeal Blades are too big - although they look about the same thickness as the stock plastic washers).

In order to put the blades on, I can only do it without any washers. Is it OK to do this or do I need to prize the machined grips apart a bit to get them to take the washers? At present, they are just wider than the brass ferrule that specifies the bolt hole. I'm hesitant to do the latter as I might stuff things up.

TIA,
Paolo

Running the blades without the shims is fine

It's just standard packaging supplied from the factory, some application may or may not need the shims.

DO NOT SPREAD YOUR BLADE GRIPS APART
