Default Shims for trex 700 tail?

Does anyone sell shims for the trex 700 tail? I's like to see if I can remove some of the slop in the tail by shimming it out.

This set will do the job:

http://www.amain.com/product_info.ph...6x8mm-Shim-Set

It comes with 0.1, 0.2 and 0.3 shims.

Those 6 x 8 mm are for shimming the tail shaft. If the OP was talking about grip slop that might be different.

Yea I meant the grips. I want to preload the bearings so add enough shims to place them under a slight load.

If you shim the grips, only add enough to take out the slop - don't try to preload the bearings, as you will get a notchy tail. With diligence, you can find just the right thickness to remove the slop, but not get it too tight.

An easier way to accomplish the same thing is by filing the ends of the tail hub where the bolts go in. DO NOT overdo it or you will have binding and must buy a new hub. Just take off a little material at a time, test, repeat.

I have just built my 700 , I found a slighi of slop in the tail holders, I used a small file and took some off the main spindle ... two min job = slop free...

Found the sims at the hobby shop. Added .10 shim and now my slop is gone.

If you replace your bearings you will likely have to buy a new hub also. That's why I like shims you can add or remove them as needed.
