I am not sure about the range but I believe I read somewhere that DX6i has about 100 mW output, still not too sure how that translates to range. It will really depend where you are flying, how many obstacles, and what kind.

If you want to extend the range greatly here is a link on how to do it, and it does not seem to hard but you will be modifying your transmitter: http://diydrones.com/profiles/blogs/...ost-your-24ghz

Be aware that a modified transmitter with increased power output may cause interference problems for other pilots if you are flying at a club, so having a dedicated fpv transmitter is preferable.

Be aware that a) modification of transmitters to increase power is likely illegal in your jurisdiction (certainly is in Canada for RC control), and b) for 2.4g specifically, there are power output restrictions around the world that are not the same. Commercial 2.4g units are manufactured in 10mw and 100 mw versions - some are switchable. If you have a 10mw limitation in your country, and a radio intended for sale in your country, 2.4g would not be suitable for FPV. In my view, Spektrum would not be suitable for FPV under any circumstances, especially the DX6i, based on the problems I've had with one on one of my helis and with several Spektrum receivers. YMMV.

Yes you can change the power settings to output 200mW instead of 100mW.

My Radio purchased in the US, came with default settings for EU, of 100mw.

I started a thread, but no replies yet LOL
