Question Setting up a 4 servo head on a SkyFox / VARIO

I was given a Vario Bell 212 unassembled kit and am at the point where I'm wiring up the servos. I have no information on how to do this and need some help from my FREAK COMRADS. I'm using an Airtronics RD800 trans with a matching reciever. where do i plug the servos into and how best to set up the transmitter? I'm also going to be installing a Gyro and again, how best to wire it in?

The other question I would have is should I use the Airtronics radio, or would it be better to use my spectrum radio?

You may in for some issues unless that airtronics has 4 servo swash menu in it. DX7 does not have a 4 servo capability. You may need to buy a mixer if the airtronics doesnt support 4 servo swash.

http://www.spartan-rc.com/products/ap2000i/ap2000i.htm you can do it with this too..

Well that's no help ..... but thanks for the input

I would be using a DX6i with an AR700.

I guess I also have the option of only using 3 servos in a CCPM configuration, but wouldn't having 4 on a large scale project like this give me a more stable platform?

I would reccomend 4 servos on a big gasser. That 800mm rotor disc can take some oommpaahhh to get it to do what you want it to do.

You can get that 6 to do it, you just need that mixer.

The Benzin can be ran on 3 servo CCPM, you just need to use good quality servos with decent torque. I'm running Futaba 9202's on my Vario UH-1D and Airwolf. As far as locations to plug into......the rear servo is your elevator and I believe the right is pitch and the left one goes in the aileron slot.

Wink

Thanks Chris,
Yea, I've got the CCPM thing down. I was however wondering about the 4 servo hook up. I have already hooked it up in the CCPM config and have leveled everything up. Looks like I'll be firing it up for its maden flight this weekend, weather permiting.

I still would like more info on the 4 servo set up . I've been in touch with Vario Northeast in Massachusetts. I'm waiting for their input as well. Who knows, between now and this weekend, It might be back to a 4 head .....:glasses2:
