Default Fut. GY401 w/9254 Will this handle 6V?

Servo says it can only run on 4.8v

I want to run my Servos in my Raptor at 6v.

Should i use a different servo? What are my options?

Don't run 6v to a 9254! I started out like that and my servo failed about 5 flights later.. (luckily I was about 2-3 feet up) I since then bought a 5.4v regulator from a website that I can't dang remember...

One other piece of advice... if you go for the regulator be sure to secure your connections some way... mine came apart in flight and the rest was history.

What other servos can i use then for the tail? The specs on that servo aren't impressive for the price anyway.

That servo/gyro combo is one of the best & most popular on the market. You'll not likely find a better servo to use with a 401.

The ideal setup is to run 6v to your avionics that can handle it and 5.4v to the ones that can't, which is usually just that one servo, and the step-down to do it is cheap. Duralite, Fromeco, KoolFlightSystems all make good solutions to this mod.

A REAL slick solution is to use a 5.4v UBEC regulator from KoolFlightSystems to run everything. You can power it with any battery from 7.4v up to 32v. Unless you're a world-class pilot the difference between 6v and 5.4v is not apparent.

I power a 401/9254 combo and 4 Airtronics 94758's (about the thirstiest servos on the market) with a TP 11.1v 3s 1320mAh LiPo and I get 5-7 flights per charge. Total weight of the batt, regulator and a foam-lined crash box to protect them is 5.2 oz, LESS than ALL adequate NiCads and most adequate NiMH's, both of which will give far fewer flights per charge.
