Kosmik newb help

After reading and watching videos, last night and this morning, I think I am finally ready to attempt to get this thing set up. Just want to make sure so I don't screw anything up.

all cables connected except battery
set tx 0-100 tc no sub trims
power on 2s backup
connect flight battery
wait for first set up beeps and press button
after first beep throttle up and wait for tone
throttle down and unplug

repeat steps for mode 4

Is this right? After mode 4 complete is this when I change settings with prog unit? How do I tell what version I have in the esc? Normally I am fairly comfortable with setting stuff up, but this just has me feeling that I am missing something. Thanks in advance for all your help.

Everything looks correct. However make sure you are first on the latest 4.5.1 version of the Kosmik firmware. Do that whole procedure first and then do the steps you outlined.
