Default Case for Nano & mCP X

Thought this might be useful to someone else as well. Its a pretty obvious mod (if you can call it that).

I cut the foam in the mCPX case so that it can carry the Nano as well instead of carrying the charger and batteries. (I carry the batteries in another case anyway and usually take enough so that I don't have to charge at the field).

You can line it up such that you make the maximum amount of use of the existing holes and you cut away the minimum amount of foam. Seems to work pretty well.

(I also use the charger plug space to carry spares).

Will the nano fit imstead of mcpx or would you have to cut it due to the shorter tail boom

Today's load out for the park. Just the dx6i, the 2 helis and about 20 packs. And a voltmeter.

I could cram other stuff but I didn't have to today. Spares I use a different box and hopefully don't have to go back to the car to get lol.

No it doesn't fit. You'd have to cut for the shorter tail.

Ok then, let's start this "I have a bigger one than you".

That's my crazy setup:

Down below (top of the picture) all the spare parts for all the birds and a small transparent case with the mQX and the Hybrid.

On the higher part (bottom of the picture, sitting on a foldable lid) the TX, sunglasses, TX batteries, lanyards.

Here, everything "else": the three birds, batteries, tools, #808 camera... all you can need.

The reason it is so complicated it's becasue I can then bring everything around when I leave for business trips (when I travel by car, of course). I just need the chargers (they have their own case). And normally I miss all the lubes and glues and sprays...

Ah, the 450X has his own house of course...

How hard is it to carve/cut out the foam properly?

Buono! I like your set up. If I may ask Where did you get the case? what did if cost you and Who makes it?
this is perfect.. No more carrying around TEN different boxes and cases...easy to get to the truck and back to the house...

Smart thinking..

I bought it in a shop of a chain called Leroy Merlin (I checked, they're NOT in North America unfortunately).

FWIW, that's the product:
http://www.leroymerlin.it/costruire/...o?cod=32687326
pretty good price, 59 EUR = 79 CAD. No idea who's the actual producer nor when you can find something like that in Raincouver (sorry for the joke, I actually love Vancouver).

On second thoughts, you should be able to find something similar (maybe in ABS plastic not alu) from Stanley... which maybe you have there.

You can get lots of stuff in one of those Harbor Freight cases.

There's even room for a cat.

Foam is pre cut, you just pluck out the squares.

Did the case come with the foam or did you have to buy it seperate? The one from harbor freight.

It came with it, you have to check them at the store since they have 2 versions under the same part number. 1 has foam, 1 has dividers.
