Default Just finishing the breakin of my TRM VX231PUH Stage 1-RS

I have 10 flights of 10 minutes each on my new motor keeping the RPM's down between 10,600 and 10,900. As stated in the breakin I have let the engine case cool to ambient after each flight prior to firing the motor for the next flight.

Looking in my gallon of breakin fuel I probably have 3 tanks of fuel left for that gallon. When can I increase the RPM to the 12,750 to 13,700 operating range stated in my instructions?

I assume I can do so as soon as I have run the gallon through it and get it set to run on my Fully Synthetic blend.

Thanks

Hi Doug, you can start to increase you rpms after the first tank or so of the synthetic mix, but i would not bring them up to full rpm right away. bring it up about 500 rpm each tank until you get to the desired rpm. keep checking to plug to make sure it is not to lean. by the end of the second gallon you should be at consist high rpms. call me if you have any ? have fun peace, Al

The key is to keep the RPM's down during breakin and to slowly increase the load on the engine.
I used the gov to make sure I knew where the RPM was and my breakin went exceptionally.
Also remember to allow the engine to cool in between flights.

Today I start the engine for the first time, stable and smooth idle.
Did not fly when there was a strong wind but a few minutes at idle to see if everything works.

May I ask what RPM you ran on the först tank (1600)?

1600 is fine, keep the rpms lower then peak for a while, you can change to 1700 or so after few tanks but don't stay there toglle back and forth between them every 5 minutes or around there so the motor will gently heat cycle it self. Peace, Al
