Default anyone have a garbage tail shaft ?

Wanting to know what's under the molded gear on a X tail.

If it's smooth i'm planning on putting it into a goblin 770

So if you have a garbage bent tail shaft , could you strip off the plastic gear and see if the shaft is smooth ?

Martin

Although I've never stripped the molded gear off the shaft to confirm what I've been told by Mikado, the plastic for the gear is injected through the center of the shaft (it's hollow...at least part of it anyways), and the plastic comes out into the gear mold through holes or slits machined into the shaft. I'm told the shaft also has serrations in it to better "grip" the gear. The shaft and gear are integral to each other, which is why you can't purchase the shaft or gear separate from each other.

FWIW...
