I'm going full metal, mine is a little nose heavy and I don't want my tail to explode again.

If it will help make bearings last longer I'm in, but I will wait a bit for reviews,
Intrigued,

Yeah $132.00 is steep… but some might not find it that steep if they want The full metal tail with all the bling. I think $50 for the tail case is a good price, no release date yet. I have one of the old metal tail case and this new one will defiantly be an improvement... belt change won’t be as difficult from the looks of the design.

Pricy but sweet looking. Might consider after reviews. I like to bling out my P500!

NEW LYNX'S TAIL CASE FOR PROTOS 500
The plastic case has served me well for over 3 years. I never felt anything's missing for tail performance. I don't see myself ever buying this $132 bling.

I've run the Infinity v2 cnc tails in both of my Protos for hundreds of flights but in the end, all it takes is a bearing to spin and enlarge the bearing hole. Then you need to toss the whole tail case. My 1st Infinity tail was tossed at the end of last year. Replaced it with stock plastic. Running great for me for hundreds more flights. The Infinity tail case on my 2nd Protos went the same way a couple of months ago. Replaced with stock plastic case again and running great for many flights since then. And yes, I did use loctite. I didn't use green loctite because I didn't want to struggle getting the bearings out. So I used blue. The only thing not stock on my Protos tails are the shims I use on the tail pitch lever mount. IMHO, the achilles heel of the Infinity tail case was the undersized bearings which wore out too fast. And it was a bit of a pain to replace the belt. The nice thing about the new Lynx tail case is that it uses stock bearings and the case side plates can be bought separate in case you do spin a bearing and enlarge the bearing hole. Also seems easier to change the belt than the Infinity tail case which isn't made anymore. I've been very happy with the MSH 3K blades on the stock tail grips. But if someone wants to run CF tail blades, then these CNC tail grips look like a good option.

Hey Alex, just curious and not to change subject, but what problems have you found with the stock tail and carbon blades? I ask because I'm a fairly new Protos owner and mine has Edge CF tail blades. I also have the 3K's to swap in, but haven't noticed issues with the CF's as of yet....

Yeah I'm going to try the tail case only as I need it to hold up a 600 size 4 blade rotor.
