A few questions. V-Bar and SK-720 use with sats will never be a possibility with this radio? It has to be run with its dedicated receiver?

The 10 vs. 7 channel receiver option. Currently using an AR7000, so the smaller 7 channel RX (and lower price) appeal more to me. Is a programmable fail-safe option the only thing I'll be giving up beside the 3 extra channels? It is also LiPo compatible?

Any new full featured RXs smaller than the 10 channel pending release? If so maybe I'll hold off a bit.

Does Airtronics make a tail servo? I always liked their servos, but the servo prices are still high like they always were, unlike the surprising value the SD10G is.
There never will be Sats.

The 10 Channel RX is 2s Lipo compatible, everything else is 6 vollts.

These are coming.

Tail servos are coming as well.

While some people might not consider it fast enough for a tail servo, the 94746 works great on a 50. Spec's are: 89oz-in, .08sec, digital, high resolution and it happens to be low profile. Holds the tail great with my GY520.

Do a search for 92224 on Hobbypeople.net and it will give you all the specs. You could also search on GlobalHobby.com. Either one should work.

Yes, you can use a two-cell LiFe pack. Mike Greenshields is the Airtronics product manager, here is a quote from him:

Quote:
Remember that 6.0V is the Nominal voltage range. What this means, essentially, is that the receiver is designed to work optimally with a 4-5 cell battery pack (nicd or nimh type cells). The operational voltage range is much larger (consider that a 5 cell nimh comes off the charge at 7 volts typically.)

So, yes, an A123 or Li-Fe 2 cell pack will work.

What we do NOT recommend is a 2 cell LI-PO pack because it comes off the charger at 8.4V and in an application like this will continue to operate at 8.4 volts for an extended period of time. The receiver is NOT designed for this much voltage.

That post happens to be on a thread about a car receiver but it applies to aircraft receivers as well. There are lots of posts about this on the Global forums, for more info just search over there for "life"

It can work direct with 2s lipo:
April 2010 Announcement:

Sanwa Engineers Approve 92104 10CH Receiver's 2S Li-Po Rating

Details: After months of testing and re-testing, Sanwa Engineers have given the OK for the 92104 10CH Receiver to be used with a 2S Li-PO direct.

Originally the receiver was only rated for the 4.8v to 6.6v nominal voltage range (4 cell Ni-MH to 2s Li-FE/A123 cells). However, after testing the receiver in a variety of environments, we're happy to announce that this receiver maintains it's stability even at higher voltage input. 2S Li-PO input voltage does not void the warranty and will not reduce the life, performance, range, or stability of this receiver.

This is a modification of the original voltage range ratings. The receiver was originally designed to be stable in a wide range of voltages. However, Sanwa engineers were originally concerned that this higher voltage range could cause instability of the 2.4GHz section or premature failure of the receiver. The 92104 Receiver is now proven to maintain its performance with 2S Li-PO input.

Please note that many new servos including some Airtronics servos are now designed for 7.4V. These include the new 94910 and 94911 HVS Digital Servos. Please consult your servo manufacturer's specifications before using 2 cell Li-PO packs.

I've got a ThunderPower 2050mah in there no problem. 2100mah is the size you're looking for.

Nice catch. Glad that one fit. I'll have to do a little more searching for a bigger one here in the states that will fit.
