Default Which 6s motor?

Should I go with the Scorpion 6s motor or the Xnova 6s motor? I have heard that Xnova motors don't like low rpm and I like having my 2500 rpm and 3100 rpm so I'm considering the Scorpion but if the smaller Xnova can handle it I will go that route.

I've never heard about Xnova not liking lower rpm.

If you are comparing the Xnova 2618 to the Scorpion 2520 they are very similar, nearly the same size, approx same power output, same weight, etc.

The motor has far less load on it at 2500 rpm than at usual headspeeds so any motor will work fine at that rpm really.

Is there even a reason to upgrade. The stock motor does 2500 and 3100rpm fine. I find there isn't a need for more power but I run mine with 325s.

Well if you want something unboggable then either the scorp 2520 or the Xnova 2618 will work fine.

The 2520 is unboggable even running 3500 headspeed and my collective management isn't good.
It comes at the cost of flight time though, I can't really get over 3min flight time with my current setup.

The Scorp/Xnova are night and day compared to the stock motors, especially when running 350's or bigger. Any motor will run any rpm just fine at 10-11 degrees collective. I run my 353's at 13.5 degrees at 3250rpm on my 2520 and get 3:30 flight time on 1300mah 70C TP packs - they come down at 3.75v/cell or so. Unbogable no matter what I throw at it and i've tried my best to bog it.

The Xnova is supposed to be slightly more powerful, but at the expense of having to modify the frame a bit. I just wanted to drop it in so I went Scorpion and it has been excellent. I swapped in BOCA Abec7 bearings to keep from having to oil it all the time and the thing comes down very cool on 6S. I hit it with an infrared gun right after I land and the highest i've seen is 126 degrees on an 85 degree humid day.
