You shouldn't have to. But once you connect just save your existing settings to file. Perform the update and verify. Very easy to do.

Thanks is anyone using 4.2 on the 700 dfc. Is it worth upgrading ?

I found the governor on 4.2 to hesitate and stop/start after over-speeding the motor. Made for a glitchy unpredictable feeling in 3d flight.
Went back to 3.27 and it's good again. Other guys at our club have had the same problem with 4.2 also

Cool, my setting are almost exactly like Szabo's. I must have stumbled in the right direction!

The autorotation function works well with the head speed change rate at 18. Quick enough to get things going without ripping teeth off. Practice several aborts at altitude and check it.
